Gideon enjoys the little things in life, though he mostly enjoys himself, reading long novels (even romance!), getting some exercise, card games, long and hot showers, and smelling delicious. He dislikes people who don't know how to mind their own business, being cold, rejection, being pestered into doing something, and snow.
This guy's good at showing himself love, talking about himself, being mysterious & secretive, most things involving physical activity, and cuddling. He's pretty bad at opening up, sharing his love for himself with others, that whole vulnerability thing, sharing blankets, and making new friends.
Goldie's hobbies include reading novels, napping, running around, researching random things on the internet, and casual eavesdropping.
As far as goals go, this guy wants to get away from the cold weather of Antartica, someday have a kid, assimilate into human society, keep in touch with his sister, and read as many books as he can get his hands on.
Gideon likes to smell good, and he tries his hardest to smell like the forest after a life-bringing rain. He doesn't really try to get along with most people. The guy has had his fair share of flings. His favorite animal? Goldfish.

- witty: while his wit is helpful in academic settings, it leads to sarcasm in social settings, which definitely doesn't help him make friends.
- sardonic: gideon doesn't really trust anyone other than himself and his sister, which also doesn't help him in maneuvering social situations. he's always second guessing other people's intentions.
- prideful: gideon takes great pride in all he does, and the fact that he is morally sound. while this makes him come off as confident and self-assured, he's a little too in love with himself, which can lead to him being defensive.
- reserved: this guy doesn't like talking about his own feelings, and because of this, it's hard for him to achieve deep, personal connections with other people, and it's also not really good for him to keep things bottled up inside.
- loyal: because he is loyal to those who stick around long enough to see him for what he truly is, the relationships he does manage to form are solid and typically long-lasting. he's a forgiving individual, so long as his pride is allowed to stay in tact.

| Gideon loves himself - everything about himself. He is irrepressibly who he is, and that's just the way things will always be. He prefers to steep himself and his persona in mystery, thinking it will somehow add to the allure he believes he naturally possesses. He's completely self-absorbed, and this has driven him to do crazy things in the past. He will do anything to avoid a bruised ego, and doesn't react kindly when someone says something that might put his confidence at risk.
When it comes to social situations, Gideon tends to lay low. When called upon, he normally has some sarcastic retort up his sleeve to prevent anyone from getting too close and seeing who he really is. Should this wall be breached by a foundation of trust and mutual respect, it can become clear that Gideon is actually quite an interesting person who isn't just a self-obsessed pretty boy. He is intelligent, and this just manifests itself as a smart mouth. He's naturally as dry as the Mojave, and he just can't help it.
Gideon is a natural pessimist, though he thinks this just makes him more resilient overall. When it comes down to it, he doesn't trust other people not to betray him, so those he chooses to associate with are those he trusts. To these individuals, he is faultlessly loyal, faithful to the end. He becomes a more honest individual, though he's still hardly open about his feelings. He prefers to keep to himself, and he cannot explain why this is. He's never thought of it. Perhaps he's just naturally brooding as well as beautiful.
Gideon longs to find a place he's comfortable with calling 'home'. He's really just a lost kitten who is looking for someone who can prove to him that things aren't always as bad as they may seem, someone who can help him heal from wounds of the past. His emotions are turbulent, and his dry, sarcastic sense of humor helps him to mask the way he really feels inside. |
Gideon was born to a pair of were- cougars (were- pumas to some) who loved him dearly. The unfortunate thing for Gideon was that his parents were notorious criminals, which was ultimately what landed him in Antartica. While the pair did their best, they simply didn't know a way of life that wasn't funded or fueled by an assortment of criminal activity. Gideon was too young to understand what was going on, but he loved his parents, the Rockies, and playing outside. Laying in the sun was one of his favorite things to do as a child, along with visiting the streams and chasing after butterflies. While his parents never lead him astray, most of what they had was swindled or acquired by other unsavory methods. The lad was taken away from his parents before he could learn the truth from them, sent away to live with the Goldstones at the age of six.
The Goldstones were an older couple who lost both of their children in a devastating accident, and they sought to fill holes in their lives with children who were less fortunate. The pair was well aware of the fact that their surrogate son was of supernatural descent, but they weren't the type to harm him. Instead, they were quite supportive of the boy, trying to teach him to embrace his humanity and respect nature. This happened, for the most part, though Gideon ended up with an overly inflated ego and a negative perception on life, mostly due to the fact that his parents were so infatuated with crime that they couldn't get honest professions to support their wondrous, handsome little boy. This may have been a bigger issue had Gideon not regularly been put in his place by his were-coyote, adopted sister, Alberta. The two got along to some extent, though they did enjoy bickering amongst themselves. Things would frequently get physical, and against all odds, Alberta would almost always prevail.
The time soon came when recruiters showed up at the doors of the Locklear's humble abode, and it was when Gideon and Alberta were sacrificed to the punks from Antartica that Gideon's hard feelings toward humans began to develop. While he was being sent away for his own good, the youth scarcely enjoyed having what he thought to be his 'forever home' ripped out from underneath him.
The blonde was whisked away to an academy that he had no interest in attending at the age of thirteen, a particularly tough age to cope with for most children. Luckily enough, Alberta was sent with him, and she proved to be a valuable asset to him throughout his more troubling times. As he began to shut himself out, she was always there when he needed someone to talk to, and it was she who taught him how to listen.
Of course, things weren't always so dismal. Gideon took advantage of all his newfound assets (and some of his newfound allies), dreaming of the day he would end up in a better place than his parents. When the two had been released, they wrote to him, though he's never had the courage to write them back. For all he cares, they had already forsaken him once, and he didn't want it to happen again.
Gideon now dreams of the day he can return to the human world, if only to return to Colorado and taste freedom once more. He intends to finish his schooling and do something important with his life, though he's not entirely sure what that is. |

| Mari & Louis Locklear: gideon is more or less happy to admit that he doesn't really have a relationship with these people. Alberta Goldstone: sibling rivalry at its finest, alberta knows just how to put gideon in his place. while the two love each other dearly, they don't always see eye to eye. Thomas Goldstone: this man was like a father to gideon, and despite the fact that he was willing to 'give him away', gideon still loves him like a father. Leah Goldstone: wasn't as warm as she could have been, so gideon has always been wishy-washy in regard to his feelings of her. nowadays, he couldn't care less.
