Rosalind was excited. Midterms were finally over. Which meant the stress of studying was over. And her having to go to tutoring every other day was postponed, at least for Winter break. And, the best part was that she'd managed to pass with a C average, which was really good considering her disdain for anything school. And because of her grades on her midterms Blakwell permitted her and Deimos to go away for Winter break. And she was super excited because Deimos actually agreed to go to Hawaii, someplace nice and warm and not covered in snow.
She pounced onto the bed on top of Deimos, snuggling close to him. The bed in the hotel room was soft and big enough for both of them to stretch out and still be comfortable. She smiled at him, kissing his chin. It's so nice here~ She said, rolling over so that she was on top of him. Rosie stretched out, yawning. I'm happy we got to come here. And I'm happy you agreed to go somewhere warm. The gardens are not enough.

Deimos was resting in the bed, somewhere between sleep and awake. This bed was comfortable enough, but not quite at the level his own bed was, and his body was making sure he was aware of that fact. He noticed Rosalind had left the bed already, but grunted a bit when she returned and landed on top of him. He smiled softly at her comment. He agreed to go somewhere warm for Rosalind. He really wasn't into eternal snow and darkness himself, but at least it wasn't always bright. Hawaii was thankfully a bit cloudy, but Rosalind seemed happy nonetheless. And besides, this vacation was more for her than him, Blakwell didn't have to say it for him to know. A reprieve for trying so hard to better her grades, and he was happy she managed to do so as well.
Every time he left the school, he was reminded as obnoxious as the sun was to his eyes (and the fact that he sunburned far too easily), he did also prefer tropical weather. Probably just from where he grew up, he got used to it. He gave her a nod, You deserve a good vacation like this. He opened his eyes, kissing her nose, This is the kind of weather you'll get when we go to Greece, too.

I am excited for Greece! Rosalind hummed, moving her arms so that her hands tangled in his hair. She shifted so she was straddling him, smiling down at him. She only had on one of his shirts and a pair of underwear, and those Rosie only put on when she'd gone to use the bathroom. Her hands moved to rest on his chest. I've missed the sun. I know you don't like it too much, so thank you for agreeing to come to Hawaii. She smiled, leaning down to kiss him lightly.
Studying was hard. Rosie pouted. It would have been much harder (and she most definitely would have failed) if she had studied on her own. Luckily Cailean was an amazing teacher, even though Deimos didn't like him very much. Rosie wasn't sure her grades would stay this good though. Hopefully she'd be able to pull it off where she'd have a halfway decent grade-point average by the time she graduated. And stressful. And I never wanna do it again. She added with a huff.

Deimos shifted to get more comfortable, though it wasn't the best idea for his hormones. He let out a bit of a sigh, he wanted nothing more than to stay inside the hotel room all day, but they had been encouraged to do touring. Well, they'd been encouraged to do some scouting for a kid that was supposedly causing just enough trouble to get the school's attention, but the headmaster had phrased it as touring.
Still, it was pretty early (if you called 10:45 in the morning early), one time wouldn't hurt, right? I'm used to it. He quipped casually in regards to the sun, giving her a shrug. He chuckled a bit at her comment about studying. He knew that feeling. Being offered to stop school at 18 was tempting, and if he wasn't too worried about being found out somehow and being sent to jail, he probably would've taken that offer. However, as he looked up at Rosalind, he was glad he decided to continue his education. He would have never met her if he had left. He felt like he could fall asleep again, with her playing with his hair. He sat up on his elbows before he actually fell asleep again, giving her a rather needy kiss, pulling her down before rolling over so he was on top of her. You still have the rest of the semester. He told her as he kissed along her neck and collarbone, Need some sort of encouragement to keep studying? He offered playfully.

Rosie let out a soft squeak from the kiss. She hadn't been expecting it, but she certainly wasn't going to push him away. She happily kissed him back, her arms going to wrap around his neck as he rolled her under him. Don't remind me. She whined, though it turned into a soft breath when his mouth found its way to her neck and collarbone. Rosie arched a bit so she could press her hips to his, her hands gripping his shirt lightly. Mmm it depends, She mewled, closing her eyes and tilting her head to the side. on what type of encouragement it is.

Deimos let out a breathy laugh through the kisses, It would appear you're well aware of what the reward would be. He teased her, then gave her a playful look, Unless you want to like.. go outside and explore. He went back to her neck, But that's no fun.

Rosalind let out a soft mewl, her arms tightening around his neck. She locked her legs around his hips, lifting her hips to his. No outside. Rosalind pouted. She wiggled her hips against his. No more talking. She said, pulling his head to press her mouth against his roughly.
Rosie slid out of bed, peeking at Deimos before padding over to the bathroom. She tilted her head, making a face at her reflection. There was a bite mark on her neck, and the surrounding area was red. She was sure Deimos has no idea he bit her, and she couldn't really said she disliked it. But she took to wearing scarves lately because if Deimos knew he bit her he'd stop. And Rosie liked it a bit too much to risk that.

Deimos rolled over and nearly fell off the bed, waking up instantly as he clutched the edge of the bed like it was his lifeline. He got his bearings for a moment before sliding out of bed. How could waking up a second time be more difficult than the first time? He pulled on clothes, ripped black skinny jeans and a loose tank top. He was a bit discontented that the weather didn't really allow long sleeves. He tried it, staying in a lightweight long sleeve shirt after changing out of snow gear at their first transfer over, but just getting to the hotel made it feel like he had been swimming, and he actually hand washed that shirt because he had sweat too much and didn't want to put it back in his suitcase.
He stretched and lazily sauntered over to Rosalind, having noticed the light on in the bathroom. He glanced at his phone, it was now going on about noon, and they should probably wander around to appease the headmaster. What's up? He asked her, leaning against the doorway and letting out a yawn.

Rosie jumped a bit, spinning around. Her hand flew to her neck, shielding the bite mark from him but being a bit too obvious about it. You're awake. She said, chewing on her bottom lip and turning away from him. It's nothing. She said, too quickly. Rosie slipped past him, hand still on her neck. The bite mark wasn't bad, but the thought of having to explain to him how she got it was enough to bring a blush to her cheeks. She went over to her suitcase, digging around until she found a dress to wear, quickly throwing it on and wrapping a scarf around her neck. Once the bite mark was sufficiently hidden (and she could only hope he hadn't seen it before she could cover it up) she went back to Deimos, a tiny smile on her face. So, where are we headed to today?

Deimos kept an eyebrow raised as he watch Rosalind move around and get dressed. Is your neck okay? He asked her skeptically. She was sure acting weird. Besides, scarf for style rather than warmth or not, Deimos was convinced it was still too hot for any kind of thing around a neck. He almost wished he had packed shorts, but he had maybe two pairs and they didn't have pockets so he typically reserved them for lazy days or pajamas. He shrugged, Is there anywhere you want to go? The beach, probably? He asked her.

Oh u-uh yeah. Rosalind stammered, busying herself with pulling on her shoes. It's just...you...ah... Her face turned a deep red and the color bled to her neck. She took a breath, avoiding eye contact and making sure the scarf covered the mark. Explaining to him where the mark came from still wasn't something Rosie was keen on doing. At the mention of the beach she nodded. It'd been entirely too long since she'd been in the water properly. The beach sounds good.

Deimos continued eying Rosalind, but let that conversation drop as she changed the subject. At her agreement to go to the beach, he had to stop himself from cursing under his breath. Why'd he even suggest that? He didn't want to go to the beach. That was like suggesting walking into the sun. He began digging through his suitcase, pulling out a beach towel and a bottle of sunscreen. He debated bringing his jacket even though it'd be hot, if anything to help him avoid the sun.
He wouldn't get burned, at least not to the extent that pure vampires did, but growing up he was infamous for only being able to get sunburns rather than tans. He really wasn't keen on spending the day or so it would take to get back to Antarctica dealing with a sunburn. He grabbed the hoodie, pulling it on and then instantly pushing the sleeves up, sticking his hands in the pockets. Okay then, I'm ready to go. He didn't bother with grabbing swim trunks, if he was dragged into the water, then he'd just accept he'd be peeling off his jeans once they got home. He waited by the door, letting Rosalind grab anything she may have wanted to bring.
As much as he hated the sun himself, Rosalind's immediate change to a positive attitude told him it'd be worth it just to see her happy. At least one of them could be. He was still trying to figure out how to tell her he hadn't actually stopped after that one drink that night. That his relapse still continued. This week was a test though, considering he was probably going to be with her 24/7. He stared up at the ceiling, getting lost in his thoughts. He wouldn't tell her this week. He didn't want to ruin her good mood, or this holiday. He'd tell her once they got back. Yeah, that seemed like a better option. It would give him time to figure out how to tell her, too.

Rosie smiled, relieved that Deimos seemed to be dropping the subject for now. She would tell him, eventually, that he tended to bite her while they were together, but today was not that day. At least, right now wasn't that time. She went to her suitcase, grabbing her bathing suit and going into the bathroom to pull it on under her dress. It was a cute two piece that Mischa had picked out for her, the top was a bit frilly and though the bottom was a skirt, it was still pretty short and the whole thing was form fitting. She hadn't worn it in front of Deimos yet, and she wasn't entirely sure if she'd actually show him.
Once she was dressed she grabbed her towel and slipped on shoes, smiling at Deimos and grabbing his hand. It's been a long time since I've been to the beach. She said, leading him out of the hotel room. Her family hadn't taken too many trips to the water while she'd lived in Bali, but it was definitely more than it was now. Rosie was sure she hadn't seen sand or an ocean since arriving at the school. I wonder if I even remember how to swim.

Deimos let her lead him out of the hotel, casually pulling up his hood and putting on sunglasses as they stepped outside. He gave her a smile, My parents used to drag me out to the beach, though all the better ones were down south. Long car rides and lots of sun... all I remember is sleeping all the time. He told her jokingly. He pushed up his sleeves not too long after they stepped outside. He was doing this to himself. He could've just not been stubborn and worn a tank top. Put on sunscreen. Well, at least if he changed his mind he had a tank top underneath the hoodie.
He questioned for a moment if he remembered how to swim. He was taught by his dad, well, if being given a inflatable armbands and then being tossed into a wave pool at a water park counted as "being taught" (And, in his dad's defense, he was constantly keeping an eye on him, so Deimos was never truly in any danger, but four year old Deimos didn't know that). Regardless, he knew the basics of swimming, but he suspected Rosalind would be able to swim circles around him. I guess we'll have to let the ocean determine if we remember how to swim or not. He told her. Besides, he'd try to avoid swimming if he could. Swimming in hoodies was, for some reason, frowned upon.
He looked around, pretty amazed by the sights. Hawaii was beautiful, peaceful, and every one seemed to have all the time in the world. The sun was shining (most of the day), and the scenery came straight out of travel magazines. Excessive sunshine or not, he could stay here. He was still a bit shocked that headmaster fronted this entire trip under the guise of it being a scouting mission. He wondered for a moment if there even really was something supernatural happening in the area. You'll love Greece. He told her again, looking up at the sky and trusting her to lead him. He hated to admit, for as much as griped about the sun, and his parents, and the country itself, he really loved his home country, and was pretty excited they were going there at the end of the semester. His smile turned just slightly, Though unless we're very lucky, the beach won't be a short walk away.

We'll just have to get a car then. Rosie quipped, though the thought made her pause and tap her chin thoughtfully. Er...do you know how to drive? She'd never had the chance to be taught, having been at the school since she was barely 14, and not really having a need for a car. Before the attack she'd flown everywhere, and they (for the most part) kept away from the cities. Deimos had left the school for some time though, so maybe he'd learned to drive in that time. Driving couldn't be that hard though, right? She could pass for human enough to learn and get her license.
Rosalind skipped a bit as the sun hit her skin, taking a deep breath. She'd definitely missed the warmth, and found herself thankful for the millionth time Deimos had agreed to go somewhere warm and sunny. She swung their arms between them a bit, a contented smile on her face. I wish we didn't have to go back to the school. Rosie said a bit wistfully after a few moments of silence. Though she knew Deimos wouldn't want to stay here long term, she would have been more than okay with not going back to the school. Of course, she'd definitely miss her few friends, and Felix, and she knew Deimos would miss Felix too. But part of her felt just never going back wold be worth it if she didn't have to face the attention she got at the school.
