AURELIA WATERS Aurelia, latin, the golden one | Waters, english, derived from Walter.
|
| Lia female, single eighteen, March 4, 1999 merfolk height 5'5" (165 cm.), 128 lbs. (58 kg.), average height with a slim figure and some muscle definition blonde, blue Dove Cameron, played by ANDY

LIKES: the sea, her true mermaid form, freedom, girls, music, singing, pretty things, fun DISLIKES: humans (men in particular), big cities, academia, pants
STRENGTHS: possesses a natural allure which she can intentionally enhance with concentration and certain songs (particularly strong on human men, can be almost impossible to resist), beautiful singing voice, breathing under water, strong swimmer, can turn fins into legs and easily passes as human WEAKNESSES: being out of seawater for more than 48 hours is extremely uncomfortable and going over three days without it could kill her, often acts on impulses without thinking things through, easily angered, has a hard time letting bygones be bygones

- Fun-loving: Lia loves to have fun and is rarely one to spend time alone doing nothing: she craves activity and socializing with people she likes. This does get in the way of schoolwork, as she’d rather find something fun to do than be bored studying.
- Spontaneous: If Lia comes up with something she’s likely to go through with it, she’s not one to sit around and carefully plan every move and end up missing her opportunity. This has led to a lot of fun but also a fair share of trouble in the past.
- Confident: Lia is confident in her own skin and is not afraid to show it (quite literally if she feels like it, “daring” outfits aren’t exactly scary when much of your childhood was spent in a culture where everyone was nude). She’s also confident in her abilities, knowing her strengths and how to use them.
- Quick-tempered: Quick to anger, Lia doesn’t exactly hide her emotions and might lash out in the heat of the moment.
- Vengeful: She is not one to just forgive and forget, if she or someone she cares about is wronged Lia will want her revenge.

| Lia wants to have fun and doesn’t take life too seriously, she’d rather spend her time socializing with those she likes or caught up in some enjoyable activity than being bored. She’s not one to sit around and plan every detail, she would much rather take the day as it comes. She wants the freedom to express herself, be spontaneous, and do what she wants. She’s confident in both her looks and her abilities, and not afraid to prove her words in her actions if it comes to that. Quick to anger and easily frustrated, Lia has quite the temper, which could easily be used against her. She looks out for herself and her own, and if she feels someone has wronged her or those she cares for she’ll want to get even.

Aurelia, daughter of Oriana, of the light-cave clan. That used to be her full name when she still lived amongst her own kind, though within her clan she was usually just called Lia. As a child her days were spent playing with other members of her clan, as well as children from other clans or interesting animals they came upon on their travels. Though her clan could almost be described as nomadic and traveled the seas plenty, there was a reason they were the light-cave clan: they called the light-caves home and eventually they always returned there.
When Lia was 9 years old the clan was making their way back to the light-caves when disaster struck. A fishing boat appeared suddenly, and before anyone had time to react the fishermen aboard it started shooting at the mermaids. In the chaos that ensued the children were told to swim away as fast as they could, the clan splitting up in many directions. In the commotion something hit Aurelia over the head, and when she woke up everything felt wrong. The first thing she realized was that everything was way too dry, she wasn’t in the sea but rather in some sort of building. She wasn’t alone, but the woman with pointy ears sitting nearby wasn’t anyone she knew. Terrified, Lia turned her fins into legs and tried to run away, but disoriented and dizzy as she was she didn’t make it far. She fell over, a tangle of limbs she hadn’t quite mastered the use of, as the woman tried to calm her.
Rosa had found Lia washed up on the shore near her home, and had taken her in to make sure she wasn’t found by any humans. At first Lia was adamant she would leave as soon as possible, her clan would find her soon, but as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months she realized that her clan wouldn’t find her. One day when she was older and stronger she would find out what happened to her mother and her clan, and she would see the light-caves again. Until she could she would stay with Rosa, who was so kind to her and whom she had come to see as a sort of adoptive mother.
To keep up appearances she went to a human school in the small town half an hour away from Rosas house by bus, but she didn’t like being amongst humans at all and she did very poorly as she’d rather play than do any schoolwork. After three years, when Lia was twelve, Rosa decided the best school for Lia would be Otherworldly Academy as she wouldn’t have to be amongst the humans she seemed to naturally dislike. Lia, though sad to have to leave Rosa behind, faired much better among other supernaturals than among humans. Her grades however didn’t see much of a change.

Oriana, daughter of Leta 52 biological mother Caius, son of Maris 51 biological father Rosa Waters 174 adoptive mother
|
| Oriana, daughter of Leta: When Aurelia was a young child her relationship with her biological mother was good, and she still misses her and her clan and wonders what happened to them. Caius, son of Maris: Aurelia is rather indifferent about Caius, he was rarely around and she didn’t particularly miss him when he was gone. She was always much closer to her mother and the other women of the clan. Rosa Waters: Rosa was a sort of adoptive mother for Lia, taking her in after she was separated from her clan. Lia is grateful and her relationship with Rosa is very good.
