Salem stormed into the girl's dormitory, grumbling the entire time. He may as well just keep ocean water with him at all times at this rate. How could a mermaid forget her literal livelihood? He wasn't actually upset, but it was still frustrating. His best friend could try a little harder to... y'know, stay alive. He got into his friend's dorm and tossed the contents of the water bottle in his hand onto Aurelie. "Can't you remember just once that you need to be in water every so often?" He lectured her, frowning. Tags: Aurelie Kryseis Leif

Aurelie laid in her bed, lips and skin dry and feeling the worst she'd felt in...when was the last time she forgot to go swimming? Last week? She groaned, her head falling to the side. Why was she like this?
Before she was able to dwell on her cursed forgetfulness too long, she suddenly had a face full of water and an annoyed sounding Salem standing over her. Aurelie smiled sheepishly at her best friend, sitting up and running a hand through her now soaking wet hair. The water in her face didn't bother her, in fact it was more than welcome. She reached for the water bottle she suddenly remembered was under her bed, drinking more than half of it before looking at Salem again.
"Sorry you have to keep doing this. I'm still not used to not being in water for twenty-four seven." Even though Aurelie had been in the school for the better part of seven years, there was still a lot that she'd just not gotten used to, and having to remember to hydrate herself often was one of them. "I'll get better, promise." She said, saluting at him with a slight smile. "You aren't mad at me, are you?"

Salem sighed, crossing his arms across his chest. He sure looked annoyed. "No. I'm not mad." He told her with a huff. "What gave you that idea?" He rolled his eyes as she pulled a water bottle out from under her bed, truly sounding exasperated this time. "And you had water the entire time?" His hands fell against his thighs. "How do you forget what you need to survive?"
He looked around, finally realizing Aurelie was alone in her room. "Where is your roommate anyway?" He sat backwards in the desk chair, resting his arms on the back rest. "You're lucky I've started just carrying water with me and suspected you hadn't paid attention to days." His voice faded from somewhat angry to more tired. "What has you so distracted that makes you forgot so often anyway? This is the fourth time in two weeks."

Aurelie pouted, looking down at her feet and picking at the frayed edges of her covers. She didn't want to tell him she was struggling with classes and had been busy trying to study. Even though he wasn't too much better than her, she knew he would probably ask her why she never went to seek help. She knew she should have, but a lot of things she'd been struggling with were simple things that those younger than her could get easily. It was embarrassing.
"I dunno." She finally muttered, shrugging. "She leaves sporadically. I don't pay attention to her much." She swung her legs, glancing up at him again, pout still on her lips. "I don't mean to make you keep worrying about me. I just...I've been busy with stuff." It wasn't a really good excuse, and she knew it sounded horrible but she didn't want him worrying about another thing. She was enough just being her. "What were you doing around here anyway? Do you always just lurk around the girls' dorm?"

Salem blushed and took a step back, seeming frozen for a moment before he regained his composure. "O-of course I don't." He replied. "I was just coming to check on you." He looked around and let out a sigh. "What has you so distracted you forget something that important?" He made a face, "It's not a boy, is it? Or is someone bullying you? You know you can tell me if someone's bullying you. There's no rules against using revenge spells within the school - though there probably should be, come to think of it... Anyway..." He faded off, looking to Aurelie. "What could possibly be so distracting?"

Aurelie couldn't stop the blush that instantly stained her cheeks at the mention of a boy. Well it wasn't a boy persay, but her tutor. How could she pay attention to what he said when his accent was so interesting and made him even hotter than he already was? "Of course not." She huffed, pouting a bit. At his other question she smiled a bit, shaking her head. "I'm not being bullied. Don't worry, I'd tell you if that were happening." Aurelie leaned back a bit on her bed, swinging her feet again. "So what are you up to today?"

Salem shrugged, "Nothing, really. Now that classes are over, I've just been... doin' the usual." He tried to think of what he had been doing as of late. Coding, music listening and making, staring mindlessly at the ceiling. Yep, the usual. "We should do something. I feel like I'm about to go stir-crazy. Anything, c'mon, let's go. We'll think of something to do on the way." He said, pulling her up.
