Aurealia missed the sea, the unrestrained feeling of looking out and seeing water as far as the eye could reach. The seawater filtered through her dorm was all fine and dandy, but she missed being able to swim freely, explore, and just be. Which was exactly why she was outside, trekking towards the penguins’ nesting site looking for a place to slip into the water for a bit. Lia had tried to convince some of her friends to come along over lunch in the cafeteria, but they wouldn’t hear of it, saying it was “too cold” or “too dangerous”. None the less, she was determined to go.
“Aha!” she exclaimed to herself when she saw the penguins in the distance, a smirk plastered on her face as she approached. Among them there was sure to be a good spot to leave her clothes and go stretch her fins with a proper swim. It had been too long and she was tired of staying cooped up under ground when the sea was so near.

Jungshin was relieved when Kio didn't adapt to being with the other penguins (though Jungshin didn't tell the Headmaster he had only given the baby penguin a couple minutes at most to adapt to being outside). Still, he knew the penguin needed to learn to do penguin things, like swim and catch fish and stuff. And the wild penguins didn't seem to mind Kio existing in their general area. He had finally made it to the penguin area. "Here we go Kio..." He began, looking up and around.
He noticed a movement that was not penguin-like, and by instinct he set Kio down quickly, though gently, and turned invisible. He watched the person who he noticed, seeing it was a young girl. She must be a student... He thought to himself. She seemed to be intending to swim, but he wasn't sure. He called out to her hesitantly. "H-Hello?"

Kicking her boots off and throwing her coat and the rest of her winter clothes in a pile next to them, Lia is left with only her dress on as she looks at the water now visible to her. The sight brings a smile to her face as the light blue fabric of her dress flows around her legs in the wind, goosebumps forming in the chilly weather. The cold always affects her more out of the water.
Lia is just about to pull the dress over her head and have it join the rest of her clothes in the pile when a voice calls out: "H-Hello?" Looking around all she can see are penguins going about their lives, they don’t seem to care about her presence or that of the person she can’t see. “Who’s there?” she shouts, waiting for this mystery person to reveal themselves. Standing barefoot in the snow, a flowy, short-sleeved dress the only thing she’s wearing, she reckons she must be quite the odd sight.

Jungshin looked over the girl in front of him before slowly making himself visible again, his face looking hesitant. "You're a student, yeah?" He asked her. He looked down as Kio waddled between his legs, then looked back up at the girl, scanning over her body. "Aren't you cold?" He asked with a tilt of his head. He figured she wasn't a ghost, since she probably would've gone invisible if she was, and he wasn't really sure what other species would be willing to step out of the school and then undress. Even Saoirse got cold in her fox form after only a few minutes, and that was unusually long from what he'd seen from other weres. He paused as he seemed to realize something, and gave her a crooked, slightly embarrassed smile, "Sorry... I didn't mean to scare you. I uh..." He looked down, playing his fingernails. "I forgot I went invisible before talking."

Lia startles a bit when a young man suddenly becomes visible. If his apparent ability to become invisible wasn’t enough of a sign, him questioning whether she’s a student makes her certain he’s a ghost. It’s not like there are a lot of other schools than Otherworld Academy in Antarctica after all. “Yeah, by the invisibility I assume you are too?” she replies to his question, now shivering a bit from the cold. “And yes, it’s getting a little freezing, but it’ll be better once I’m in the water.”
“Don’t worry about it, a little scare never hurt anyone.” Lia assured him, returning his smile. “Now I suggest if you don’t want a show that you turn around or close your eyes or something, all the same to me, but I came to go for a swim and that’s not something you do clothed.” With that said she promptly pulled the dress over her head, throwing it on the pile with the rest of her clothes. Modesty wasn’t high on her list of priorities, but she figured she should give the guy a heads up since not everyone agreed with her.
She was really getting cold now, so she made haste towards the edge of the water. The moment she jumped in and was submerged she felt much better, her legs turned into fins shifting in metallic hues of blue and green in the light. Breaking the surface again with a full out grin on her face, Lia looked back at the ghost and told him: “So you know why I’m here, but why are you? Oh, I’m Lia by the way.”

Jungshin quickly turned around as she continued undressing, "Yeah, I am." He responded simply. He kept his eyes on Kio, not really sure when it would be appropriate to turn around again. He took her talking again as a cue it was okay. He turned, a bit surprised to see her in the water, even though by this point he had guessed she was a mermaid.
"Jungshin." He responded simply, then pointed down to the baby penguin waddling between his legs. "I need to teach it how to do penguin-y things. Since at some point the Headmaster will probably make me try to let it rejoin the other penguins, I especially don't want Kio to be left out... if I can't keep it forever, that is." He explained. He rocked back and forth on his feet for a moment, a hum noting his hesitation. "Though I've never been very good at swimming, and I'm not exactly sure how to teach a penguin anything regarding under the water... Could I maybe ask for your help? Since you're a mermaid, and probably know a lot about being underwater...?"
