Liesel's hand drifted lightly across the books on the shelf. Her fingers just barely touching the spines of the books. She had read so many of the stories so many times, she needed something new. Something fresh. She muttered to herself as she passed each one. Been here, read that. Surely this couldn't be so difficult, finding a new book in a library of this size. She, of course, knew that this library was of large size and stocked well, yet, so many of the books were in languages that couldn't recognize. Some not even in English. She hadn't been here long. Only a few three or four or so, much less time than the other students, and English was a hassle to learn on it's own. And she still had yet to master it perfectly!
"Der Froschkönig?" She read out loud as her fingers trace the sides of the book cover. The Frog King? Never heard of it before. She had to admit that it was the strange name that caught her eye first. "Vhat a strange name."
She took a seat on the floor by the shelf and opened it. It was filled with beautiful illustrations, her eyes danced across the page completely invested already. She planned for quiet alone time, but she could hear footsteps coming her way. Perhaps she wasn't the only one who came for some quiet reading?

Felix wandered along the stacks of books, just trying to find somewhere quiet to sit and possibly study for a bit. His roommate had invited friends into their dorm room, so it was too noisy there, and it wasn't like he could go hide in his brother's room anymore. A pang of bitterness bubbled up into his chest. Why couldn't he have just gone to Greece with them? Of course, he knew the answer already, and if he went anywhere outside of the school, it'd be back to his parents. Besides, a regular school wouldn't have Star. Or other hybrids and probably not many supernaturals in general, but more specifically, it wouldn't have Star. And despite how she treated him, he eventually would have to admit he had a bit of puppy love for her.
He sighed, about to give up as he glanced down another stack and saw other students, when he heard something, or rather someone, speaking German. He was definitely not the only German kid, not even in his grade, but somehow finding people that spoke your language was more difficult than one would think. He understood his brother's frustration at knowing there were others that spoke your native language and not being able to find them anywhere. He went towards the source of the voice, finding a young girl sitting on the floor reading a book. "Du sprichst Deutsch (You speak German)?" He asked her simply, for whatever reason a little breathless. Maybe he'd rushed over a little more quickly than intended once he heard his native language. He felt like his heart was beating a bit faster too, though he attributed that to the fact that he wasn't usually one to just walk up to people and start a conversation.
((Note: I don't know how much German you know, but I know very useless things none. ^^; So I hope Google Translate doesn't betray me too hard.))

The footsteps quickened. Liesel had half the mind to put down the book and make herself invisible as to avoid whoever it was but decided against it. She didn't want to rude, and she wasn't sure if using her ghost abilities was even allowed in the library. Liesel looked up from her book as she heard the voice of a young boy. He was speaking German! Thank goodness she was not the only one. In her time of being here she had not met a single person, child or otherwise, that could understand her language fully. But he spoke clearly and properly. Her grey eyes fell upon a boy she had never seen before. Normally in a situation like this she would've nodded and went on with her reading, but today she figured she may as well attempt to be social, especially since he knew German.
"Ja. Ich spreche Deutsch (Yes. I speak German)." She replied smiling a bit. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't a little excited. "Mein name ist Liesel. Wie heißt du? (My name is Liesel. What is your name)?"
Her attention was completely on him now, her book closed over her finger to save her page. It was getting interesting, but this was much more intriguing. She made mental note of his face to make sure she wouldn't forget for next time. Perhaps, if she played her cards right. He could be a friend, and she personally hoped so. Without her family and her brother it had been terribly lonely for Liesel. But now all that seemed to be turning around.
((It's okay. German isn't exactly my strong suit either. But I've been learning phrases and vocabulary words for a while now.))

"Mein Name ist Felix (My name is Felix)." He told her, finally seeming to even his breathing. He was more excited than he wanted to admit at finding another person who spoke German. He'd been working so hard on learning English, and then Greek and Greek Sign Language on top of that, it was a relief to not have to think about words. He relaxed a little more at her receptive response, even sitting down cross-legged near her. He grinned to her, "wie lange bist du schon hier (how long have you been here)? Ich bin seit anderthalb Jahren hier (I've been here for a year and a half)... Geben oder nehmen (give or take)."

She listened with her undivided attention. Felix? That name was considered very lucky in Germany, although she felt like the lucky one meeting someone just like her. Now that he was seated not far from her she noticed that he seemed older than her. She wondered what species he was. Perhaps he was a ghost like herself? Honestly it was hard to tell, on the outside he seemed like any other normal human she'd ever met.
"Ich war drei oder vier Monate (I have been here three or four months)," She answered honestly. It's been awhile since she had seen the streets of Germany. "Welche Spezies bist du? Ich bin ein Geist. (What species are you? I am a ghost.)"

"Oh wow, du bist damals sehr neu (Oh wow, you're very new then)!" Felix said, perking up a bit. He deflated a bit as she mentioned she was a ghost. Everytime he met a ghost, he was curious how they died, but knew that was probably the last thing he should be asking. "Warst du schon mal ein Mensch? (Were you human before)?" He asked her curiously. He fidgeted a bit more at her question. If she were human beforehand, she'd have much less of an opinion about hybrids. He had an easier time making friends back home than he ever did here. "Ich bin ein Hybrid (I'm a Hybrid)."

Liesel's eyebrows perked up at the sudden look of deflation that crossed his face. It was small but still noticeable. She wondered why? Perhaps her being a ghost had something to do with it? Not that it mattered much. "Ich war ein Mensch (I was human)." She answered honestly. She couldn't help but wonder what other kinds of species and creatures also hung about the academy. She tilted her head slightly. So he was a hybrid? Not that it mattered. She wandered what kind of hybrid he was, but didn't know it was appropriate to ask.

Felix shifted, relaxing a little as she didn't react to his being a hybrid. "Ist es wirklich überwältigend (is it really overwhelming then)?" He smiled to her. "Ich wurde von Menschen aufgezogen, so dass ich die Seite des Menschen mehr verstehen kann als die Studenten, die mit übernatürlichen Wesen aufwachsen (I was raised by humans, so I can understand the human's side more than the students raised with supernaturals)."
