Jungshin waited for her, curious to see if it would actually work. When it did, he perked up, smiling widely to her. "That's great!" He said, just as excited as she was. He was also excited he actually taught someone to do something correctly. Everything he knew, he learned in class. Thankfully it took less than a week of him being there before his teacher taught him how to hold stuff, and he was more solid on that skill than he was phasing because of how much he liked reading (the first week was torturous, but if he were being honest, he probably wouldn't have done much reading during that week anyway). "If you keep that mindset, it should stay, until eventually you don't really have to think about it." He told her, giving her a sheepish smile, "I still sometimes have to think about it, and actually a lot of the ghosts, if they decide to sleep, tend to wake up with their facade down. It won't be instant, being able to constantly leave it up." He told her.

Laelia couldn't help the smile that grew on her face when she saw this guy getting excited on her behalf. She lowered her eyes. "Thank you...for helping me. Erm...I'm Laelia, by the way." Her face took on one of confusion and she tilted her head some. "What exactly do ghosts need and don't need to do? Cuz I don't imagine we need to sleep or eat or anything else people with functioning organs have to do, but we can do those things? Does it actually do anything for us?"

"Oh, right." Jungshin said, turning slightly to face her better. "I'm Jungshin." He told her, giving her a slight bow out of habit. He tapped his chin, "Really, I don't think we have to do anything. The teacher says that the older you get, the more you forget how to uh.. human, essentially, I guess." He shrugged, "We can eat, and drink, shower, change clothes. We don't have to do any of it. With eating and drinking, I think it's more a memory thing, because we can taste things, we just don't need it. And that can apply to honestly any activity. Though to not do anything humans do... I think that would lead to a very boring eternity." He said, looking past her, staring at nothing, seeming to be thinking about something. He focused back on the conversation, "Do whatever you want to do, honestly. Travel if you want, unlike most stories, we aren't actually bound to any one place. I like reading, so I'd really like to be able to one day say I've read every book in the world. Or well, every good book." He told her. "Try not to think too much about it, but if you don't know already, we're immortal. It's really daunting to think about for me..." He brought his legs up to his chest, rocking back and forth absent-mindedly. "So just think of things you can do now, or in the near future, if it ever gets overwhelming." He suggested.

"Ahh." Laelia nodded, chewing on her bottom lip. She pretty much figured she wouldn't have to do much, she'd already noticed she didn't get hungry. And she hadn't really tried to sleep yet. She sighed, her head falling back against the wall. "This is a lot to take in, ya know? But I'll get it."
She tilted her head to smile at him, "It's nice to meet you. You're the first person who's actually approached me since I've been here so it's a nice change." She sighed. "I guess, I was going to go to school for art before I...well you know, died. Do they have someplace to like, make money? Buy stuff? Or do we have to find stuff online?"

Jungshin nodded in agreement. He knew. He was still trying to take it all in himself, and he'd been here two years already. "It's nice to meet you too," He mimicked, "It's hard because a lot of the students seem like they've been here forever. They have friends that seem more like family. I've only just started trying to make friends and well. I now have two." He said with a sheepish laugh.
He perked up when she mentioned art school. "You went to art school?" He asked her, a smile forming on his face. "I was going to go to an art college, but I... I got really tired of trying in high school." He bit his lip and let out a sigh. "I guess... I just kind of gave up, you know?" He leaned back, looking up at the ceiling, the smile was still on his face, but his voice seemed a bit sad, "In Korea, kids are studying constantly. By the time I got to high school, I was in class from 7am to 3pm, then I had, um.." He stumbled over the proper word for 학원. He always had, because English didn't really seem have an equivalent. "sort of like, after-school school? It lasted from 5pm to 10pm, we would just study more things. Then when a student got home, there was still homework to do. Then the next day, you do it all over again. Even though I really, really wanted to go to an art university, I couldn't sustain it." He made a face, looking jokingly annoyed, "I wanted to go to one in the US, so I even studied English really hard until then." Finally, he looked back to her, "What school were you going to?"
He nodded, "There are jobs you can sign up for, essentially. It's not required, but the older students usually help with things like dishes in the cafeteria, or just in the cafeteria in general, or do other things. Sweeping, cleaning classrooms, things like that, and they get paid for it." He explained. "We don't really have a shop on campus. However, we can order things from online and they're sent to scouters - erm, the ones that go around searching for supernaturals. Or even just request they get something for us." He paused, backtracking a bit, "There are some limitations, but it's ones that make sense. No silver, no garlic, no ordering alcohol unless you're the bartender, etc."

Laelia quickly shook her head, a sad smile on her face. "No, I was going to in the fall. I'd been working as a waitress to save money for school when I was killed. So I never got a chance to attend." She shrugged, picking at the ends of her sleeves and looking back at Jungshin. "You like art? What do you do? I mean, like I painted mostly, but I liked to sketch a bit too."
At his question she answered, "The Art Institute of California. It's in Los Angeles." She sighed lightly, tilting her head at him. He didn't seem like someone who'd not do well in school, but Laelia was also someone who'd done exceptionally well in school. "Do you still have problems? I could help you study if you want."
She nodded lightly, humming a bit. "I guess that makes sense, you don't want students ordering any and everything. It must take forever to get stuff to the school though if you have to ask a scout every time." Laelia laughed. "I guess I should wait until I can hold things more consistently before finding a job though."

Jungshin nodded, "I do, but I'm the opposite of you; I sketch mostly and sometimes paint." He told her. His eyes got wide, "No way! That's where I had wanted to go, too!" He sighed, "Though I hadn't actually applied, so I may have gone a year later, or something. Or maybe done my military service and then gone." He mused. No use trying to figure it out now, anyway.
"Hmm?" He hummed, looking to her again, "Oh, no, I'm okay now. Thanks though. I've found a happy medium between studying too much and not studying at all, so I'm doing alright here."
He chuckled, "Maybe. I'm sure if you go to the headmaster, he can probably think of something to do if you wanted to start making some money. Or at least he could probably arrange something."

"That's cool. I haven't done much since...I died. Obviously I still haven't quite the hang of holding things down yet. And I don't really have anything to paint with." Laelia laughed a bit, shaking her head. "I've never heard of a happy medium with studying and not studying. I mean, I guess I just always wanted to do really well so all I did was study."
She shrugged. "It wasn't that bad though. I actually enjoyed school."
At his next words she nodded. "Maybe. I won't bother him for something like this though. I'll wait until I can do stuff on my own and then try and find a job of some sorts."

"I have some paints if you wanted to borrow them." Jungshin offered, making a circle on the floor with his finger, "Doing something you like might make it easier for you to learn to hold stuff, y'know? Cause it's something you enjoy doing. For me, it took me about a week just because I was so desperate to have something I could do." He let out a chuckle, though it came out more sardonically than he meant. "I think I slept most of the time, so I didn't have to think about it. Being dead." He told her honestly.
He laughed and finally looked back up at her, wrapping his arm around his legs again, "I think what I mean is, I've learned how to maintain satisfactory grades without wearing myself out. In high school I went from one extreme to the other." He explained.
"Well, if you're sure... But I mean it, about loaning you my paint supplies and you practicing. It might help speed up the process."

Laelia perked up a bit, her smile widening. "Really? That would be awesome! I actually really miss being able to paint." She nodded, it made sense. If you wanted to do something really bad, it was only natural you'd try harder to be able to actually do that thing. Laelia supposed she'd just been so overwhelmed, was was still a bit overwhelmed, by all the supernaturals and general new things around her she hadn't thought much about being able to paint or do the things she once did.
"I haven't tried sleeping, yet." She said. Since dying she figured she didn't really need to sleep, but it was nice to know they could. That she wouldn't just be awake for all eternity. "Can we like...taste food when we eat?" Since she hadn't been hungry she hadn't really tried eating either.
"Maybe once I figure out how to hold stuff without having to focus solely on doing so I'll be able to start doing jobs and make money." She said with a smile. "Thank you. It'll be good to have some...normalcy back."

Jungshin nodded, giving her a slight smile, "Yeah, it'd be no problem. I usually draw anyway, so I won't even need them back immediately." He hummed, looking off into the distance. "Sleep isn't always an easy feat, cause we don't get tired. But if you're anything like me, boredom can help you fall asleep." He said with a laugh. He nodded, "We can, which I think is why some ghosts still enjoy eating." He smiled, biting his lip for a moment, "Because we can do things like eat a whole cake without getting fat, things like that." He backtracked, pursing his lips ad he tapped his chin, "Though I wonder if we can get sick to our stomach..." He questioned to no one in particular. "I'd assume not." He answered himself. He looked back to Laelia, "It's not a problem! I barely had a taste of the supernatural world before I died, so I was at least a little bit familair... I can only imagine what it must have been like to be thrust into it with no previous warning."
