| "Do not judge my story by the chapter you walked in on." male, dating Saoirse Caiside twenty-one (appearance: 18), May 9, 1997 ghost/werewolf, student 5'8" (172 cm.), 85 lbs (38 kg.), muscular but surprisingly small build black, dark brown Myungsoo Kim (L), played by Redeim |
Likes: coffee, listening to music, instruments (he knows how to play piano), reading, manga/manhwa, languages, baby animals, penguins (he is often found outside, trying to play with them), soccer, the internet. Dislikes: being a ghost, thinking of his past, not being able to get the next volume of a manga/manhwa, the wifi connection at the academy (it sucks). Skills: piano, can read a 1,000+ page book in a day, drawing, English, imitations Incompetencies: tends to run into walls because he forgets he has to phase through, trips up a lot when speaking because being bilingual(-ish) is hard, sometimes gets very close to getting caught by researchers because penguins. Hobbies: sleeping, reading, playing computer games, listening to music, playing with the penguins Goals: Get to a point where he can be at peace about his past. Other: He feels out of place in the werewolf-only areas, though it's mostly because of his own thoughts. He has claustrophobia and hates big crowds. Because of the claustrophobia, he tries to beat cabin fever and feelings of being trapped by finding penguins to play with outside. He has a habit of going invisible and watching the researchers, but in the academy he almost never uses his invisibility skill.
|
- Quiet: He prefers listening over speaking, and he's very observant, content just watching other students, penguins, or even researchers
- Friendly: He can be sociable, and is easy to get along with
- Claustrophobic: Mostly because of how he died, but also partially because he's always been claustrophobic, his fear is what drove him outside in the first place (now he just goes out because penguins)
- Joker: He likes to make jokes to help lighten the mood, or even to cheer someone up. He's also rather sarcastic a lot of the time
- Prickly: This is most commonly seen when asked about his past, but also within certain social settings,
he gets defensive and on edge

| Jungshin is mostly an easy-going guy. Only on rare or specific occasions is he obviously perturbed about something. Because of his personality, he is a bit of a pushover, but most of his friends don't take advantage of that fact. He's very quiet, usually content in a corner reading a book or people watching. He finds peace in solitude, an introvert without question. He's very tough to anger, but he is also very protective of his friends (older brother syndrome). He often has very mixed feelings about his past, as his bitterness towards his parents is occasionally overshadowed by his love and longing to see his little sister again.

Jungshin was born in Kwangju, South Korea, the oldest of two kids to a loving couple. Like most kids, Jungshin was conditioned to hate supernatural beings, his parents often making snide comments or rude remarks regarding them. His childhood was very average; he went to school, studied, spent time with his family. However, when he got into high school, he became a bit rebellious.
Burned out from studying so hard to get into a good high school, Jungshin was getting tired of following the rules. He began hanging out with a more rebellious crowd. He began smoking, doing grafitti, even ending up in jail for a couple nights at a time more than once. Eventually, his rebellion cost him, and when he was 17, he was out past his curfew alone, and was bitten by a rogue werewolf. His life made a 180 degree turn.
He managed to get home, wrapping the bite in hopes of hiding it from his parents. Maybe he wouldn't be infected, he tried to hold hope that that would be the case, even though it was extremely rare for a person not to get infected. After a physical a couple weeks later, the doctor pulled his mother aside and told her he had become a werewolf. His mother waited until they got home before lashing out, yelling at Jungshin for being so stupid, and lying about contracting "this disease" in the first place. He was locked in the basement, and after testing it directly on his skin to see if it affected him yet, changed the deadbolt and doorknob to silver. Starved, trapped, and alone, Jungshin's first transformation was terrible from what he can remember of it. He doesn't know what the wolf ate, but there were bloodstains all throughout the basement. He was pretty injured himself, noticing it was probably from trying to escape, scratch marks visible on the walls.
The cold, dark basement became his home, his parents occasionally remembering to throw food at him. Occasionally, his little sister would sneak down with food, or water, and he'd have a moment to relax, the young child not yet thoroughly taught to hate or fear him. On the eve of his 18th birthday, however, his sister was caught sneaking down to him, and while she was just sent to her room, he was punished severely. After already beating him, his parents went out to buy something, returning with a box that looked just big enough for a person to fit in. Although he struggled to get away, Jungshin couldn't fight his father enough to avoid being locked in.
"You're a danger to your sister. It's better this way." It's the last thing he can remember his parents saying to him. The box was silver lined, and eventually exhaustion won over fighting getting burned. Within a week of turning 18, he died from third degree burns and exhaustion.
When Jungshin realized he was staring at the box from the outside, he was initially extremely confused. It didn't take him long to realize he'd become a ghost, though. He felt betrayed by fate, hadn't he suffered enough? Now he'd have to live forever, knowing his parents would've rather he die than try to help him. Tearfully, he said goodbye to his sister, though it was hard to get her to be not afraid of him at first. He didn't know where he was going to go, but he couldn't stay here. Humans were finding more and more ways to entrap and torture ghosts, and he was done being his parent's victim. Not long after leaving his house, he ran into a scouter from the school, and was quick to accept the offer of refuge.
Jungshin has been at the academy for just over two years now, and he's made it his home. He still has a strong longing to see his sister again, the only person in his family who didn't betray him, but as he gets more situated, he's found it easier to go for longer periods without severely missing her.
