Jinhai Wen jinhai, chinese, golden sea | wen, chinese, friendly/cheerful
|
| Jin, "the teacher's son" male, single sixteen (actual age: 107), october 9, 1910 Vampire 5'10" (177 cm.), 140 lbs. (63 kg.), seems as if he's naturally built, skinny naturally black, dark brown/black Seongwoo Ong, played by Redeim
|
Likes: cats, music, random facts, space, conspiracy theories, memes, computer games, travel. Dislikes: sunlight (obvs), most (physically) older men, vampire movies (they're dumb), earbuds, conspiracy theories (love-hate relationship), pretty much any vegetable. Strengths: remembering random facts, remembering songs. Weaknesses: vegetables, he is like a big kid with them. Other: He's really quirky, and never seems to stick with one thing for very long. He also has the habit of being a player, and he can be pretty sauve when he wants to be. In reality though, he's usually just a giant dork who's constantly listening to music.
|
- Music: Jin is good at remembering music. He can still pin down the titles and artists of songs from the 40s and 50s. He has a current obsession with Indie Pop/New Wave, Electronica, and EDM.
- Quirky: he's not really one to get embarrassed easily, and just kind of does whatever he wants.
- Restless: This is pretty self explanatory; he likes traveling and has this habit of not staying put. He keeps trying to go on scouting missions, but his dad won't let him leave again until he actually graduates.
- Thinks He's Sly: Because he gets away breaking (minor) rules, he thinks he's sneaky. He has no idea the headmaster knows he keeps a cat in his dorm. The headmaster and his dad let him keep it because it's keeping him at the school.
- Playful: He just likes goofing off and getting in a good laugh.

| Jin is one of those guys that are well known, though not necessarily popular. He has a solid group of people he hangs out with, usually finding a group with whatever generation he's with that comes to the academy. He's quick to fit in literally anywhere and with anyone, mostly because his interests are so broad. He's always willing to try everything once. He takes pleasure in other students trying to figure out how old his dad is via him, especially since some students will go to great lengths to figure it out. He's been in and out of the school so often that he's still taking classes, though he is one year above his perceived age. He chose to stop aging at 16 because he likes playing pranks and overall having an excuse to still act like a kid while also looking old enough to be able to be taken seriously. He's actually pretty smart, knowing six and half languages now (Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, English, (Spain) Spanish, and he's teaching himself French). He just has a very severe disinterest in classrooms. He's easily excitable, too. He recently learned to turn into a bat and fly from his dad, and he does it way too much.

Jinhai was born to Liao Wen and ShiAi Wong, both vampires, near the beginning of the century. They moved often to keep humans from getting suspicious, going from town to town between Moje county in Northernmost China and what is now South Korea. When World War I started, they decided to move to Europe, where Jinhai attended preschool and was given the nickname "Jin." They lived throughout Europe for a little bit before Liao was offered a job as headmaster for the academy he had gone to. Knowing it was safer at the academy, they all moved there together. Little Jinhai was popular among nearly all the students, mostly for his adorable and spunky attitude.
When he was (actually) ten, Jinhai's mother was getting restless. She knew every nook and cranny of the school and needed a break from it, and also wanted a break from Liao. Jinhai decided to go with her, though he made it clear it wasn't cause he didn't like his dad, and even thought his mom didn't, he kept in touch. They found themselves in Japan, where his mom ended up dating a human man. Jinhai, once again going by Jin, was humoring attending human school, but he didn't always actually attend. It wasn't too long after they started dating did his mom decide to get married, despite Jin's protests that she was already married.
When Jin's step father began abusing him after news that ShiAi was pregnant again, he began begging his dad to send a scout to get him. Although Liao tried, his step-father managed to out-wit any scouts sent to get them. He was always complaining about not wanting some freak for a kid. That he was finally going to get a normal, human kid now (newsflash: it would've still been a vampire). He brought Jin outside during the day, exposing him to the sunlight and keeping him there, letting him get burned. Jinhai still has a scar from it going down his arm, but he refuses to talk about it. His mother thankfully came home from errands early and caught the two of them. Without a second thought, she ran out to try to save her son, disracting her husband by biting him. Jinhai ran inside, scared and shaken. His mother and step-father ended up in a fight that killed both of them, his mother by severe burns created by the sunlight, his step-father from blood loss.
Jinhai took matters into his own hands, finding his way back to his father. He was still shaken, scared, and bitter. If his mother had upheld her vows in the first place, none of this would have ever happened. He spent about fifteen years at the academy, going back and forth between attending school and just living there.
He decided to venture out again during the 1990s, hanging out in America for a while, then going to Canada for the second half of the decade. He again returned to his father at the beginning of the millennium, attending classes for only a year before deciding to visit Europe. He stayed in Europe for another ten years, running away from the continent completely when he accidentally killed a girl he had knocked up. It had been an accident, brought on by not getting enough blood while out there, but he was still shaken from it. He wandered a bit longer in China, before finally agreeing to return to the academy. He's essentially started over, acting like nothing ever happened, being an all-around good-natured kid. His father finally put a foot down and told him to graduate this time. Jinhai agreed he'd stay this time.

Liao Wen ? father ShiAi Wong dead mother Mako Fujimara dead (ex-)step-dad
|
| Liao Wen: they have a playful relationship where they'll joke with each other, but at the end of the day, Jin respects his dad and they really love each other. ShiAi Wong: Kinda misses her, but also kinda doesn't. He resents her for what she put him through. Mako Fujimara hates him intensely.
