| Perry's generally a pretty happy-go-lucky guy. He enjoys life and believes it is what it is, which helps him to keep a positive attitude and enjoy the finer things that come his way. He's a curious soul, typically always craving more, and has a hard time keeping to himself. He's always been full of questions and had a desire to learn, so it's only fitting that he's ended up in Otherworld Academy.
On the other hand, Perry is a bit of an ass. He doesn't mind lying to others or throwing them under the bus - loyalty is basically nonexistent. He serves himself and his own ideals, and as he tends to fall into the gray areas when it comes to morality, it's sometimes hard for him to empathize (or even sympathize) with the plights of others. |
Perry's parents were wonderful people and anyone who knew them would vouch for it. The pair mostly kept to themselves, preferring to raise their child in a way that suited them. Perry grew up without modern amenities in the forests of North America, moving around with his parents, learning all there was to learn about the nature that surrounded them. His parents warned him of humans and encouraged him not to get too close to any of those artificial lights, though they youth was curious - he couldn't help but to visit towns (and even the occasional city) and see what the humans were up to, what kind of gadgets they were using, and what was in fashion.
Perry never had formal schooling and only spoke his native tongue when his mother passed, a tragic occurrence that rattled his father to his very core. Life afterward would never be the same, as his father fell into a deep depression that he seemed unable to come out of. Like a dove without its mate, his father soon passed as well, leaving Perry to fend for himself. Luckily enough, the forest provides.
Of course, being on all on his own was never a good time for Puck, who eventually worked up the nerve to take residence near a small house in the woods. The humans who lived there only came up on certain days of the week, and when they did, Puck liked to watch them from the safety of the trees. The family had a young daughter who was incredibly kind, with curly blonde hair that bounced as she played. This girl - Annabelle - was the first human Perry had ever encountered, and they soon became fast friends. The girl's father was a fan of Shakespeare and, as such, the nickname 'Puck' was soon gifted unto the young fae.
Annabelle spent a lot of time playing in the woods, which was initially how the two had met. She'd ventured further than she ever had before and lost her way, only to have the good fortune of Puck's interest. He assisted her on finding her way home, and though he couldn't understand what he was doing, made a promise that he'd come back from time to time and visit. It was through the little girl that he began to understand some English and some of the core values of humanity, and it was also how he ended up being chased through the woods by angry men. Humans apparently don't like it when you fraternize with their daughters. Of course, Puck had continued returning to the cabin on the yearly holiday in which the Americans set off great, dazzling balls of fire. By the time he was beginning to look sixteen, Annabelle was sixteen, and she'd always had a thing for her little fairy.
It took a while for reports of his sighting to attract recruiters from Otherworld, though Puck was certainly glad they had came. He was growing a bit bored of the North American woods and hadn't even heard of Antartica. In fact, it was kind of hard for him to even pronounce it. A year has since passed and Perry's gotten a much better control over the English language and is more than pleased to be surrounded by so many different people, though he's yet to find the niche place where he belongs. |
