Likes: drawing, exploring, having fun, making jokes (some are very bad dad jokes; he says since he's actually a dad it's allowed), kids, teaching Dislikes: bullies (he's a teacher that will actually call bullies out if he catches them), bad internet connections, most of Tokyo (bad memories - he was in Hiroshima when he lived with his grandparents), getting old (he gets side-eyed when complaining about this) Strengths: quick learner, empath (doesn't use it much though), strong manipulation skills (can't use it though), strong language comprehension skills (is fluently tri-lingual) Weaknesses: he's a teacher but he gets anxious in front of a crowd (because what is sense), (secretly) really sensitive, not having his wings really bothers him Hobbies: drawing/sketching, teaching, learning, talking with/about his daughter (he's wrapped around her finger, he knows it, he's okay with it), watching movies. Goals: See Hane grow up well, preferably without discrimination (though she's shown no signs of any fairy powers yet, she's still young).

- A Dad: When Kiyo became a father, his priorities changed. He usually thinks about how his actions will affect his daughter now.
- Regretful: Looking back, he realizes he was a pretty bad kid, and he's trying to make it up to his parents and the staff as he can.
- Thankful: Conversely, he's glad his parents and the school gave him another chance.
- Mischievous: He's still a troublemaker, just in a lot less serious way. While he now abides by the school rules to not use manipulation, he still finds ways to get a good laugh.
- Artistic: He's loved art for as long as he can remember. He's happy Hane seems to be the same, and together they're creating a mural in Kiyo's room. He likes it's something they can easily bond over.

| Kiyo is someone who went from hopeless to hopeful. And while he's still got a mischievous streak, his pranks have definitely calmed down in severity as he's gotten older. He's still a new teacher, and he's trying to keep on students' good sides and get along with them, which has made him a bit popular. He's pretty secretive about his personal life, but it takes about half a question before he'll gush about his daughter. He's actually very squeamish (like can't even watch crime shows kind of squeamish), but he tries to hide it.

Kiyoshi was actually born within the walls of Otherworld Academy to two teachers that had met and fell in love. His mother was an ESL and fairy teacher for Japanese-language students, while his father was the same for Chinese-language students. He spent his first five years at Otherworld, before both parents decided to take some time off to teach Kiyoshi of his heritages. They spent three and a half years in China first, where he got to be the Most Popular Grandkid (read: only grandkid), and then another three and half years in Japan. However, when Kiyoshi was ten, a tragedy struck. Already being bullied for being a fairy, Kiyo was caught by some of the kids at his school and he had his wings taken off. This changed Kiyoshi, and even though the family decided it was high time to return to Otherworld, Kiyoshi never went back to the happy little boy he had been. He told himself he'd never let himself get bullied again, and he became a fighter. At the slightest provocation, Kiyo would throw a punch or a kick. He was suspended more times than one could count. When he was about 16, he began going against the rules and manipulating other students. At first it was minor things, having them carry his bag or do his homework, but then it began escalating. He get students to pick fights or do ridiculous tasks for his entertainment. Of course, he was caught. Originally, they'd just suspend him to a corridor, as they usually do, but every time he'd be allowed to return to classes, he'd just start manipulating students all over again. When he was twenty, the staff had had enough, especially since he had more than once tried to manipulate staff. After much discussion, all staff, his parents included, decided he couldn't stay any longer. The staff left it up to his parents to decide where to send him, and so they sent him to his grandparent's place in Japan. For a while, Kiyo was still acting up. He was upset with his parents for sending him away, and upset at the school for the same reason. Quickly after he arrived though, he met a girl. She was a human girl named Akane, but for once it didn't matter to him. She was kind and sweet and pure and he instantly fell for her. Almost overnight, he began changing. She didn't like bad boys, she'd say, so he stopped misbehaving. She didn't care that he was a fairy, in fact, she found it kind of cool. For her entertainment, he'd still sometimes use his manipulation powers, but it was vastly less severe than when he was at school; having a person spill their coffee on their bag, getting someone to trip over a sidewalk, minor pranks in comparison. A few months into their relationship, Akane announced she was pregnant. Kiyoshi was nervous, but they were both adults and he was confident they could handle it. Kiyo quickly realized getting a job with just a high school diploma was getting him nowhere, though. He applied and began college courses, managing to land a slightly better paying job on campus. Soon after the baby was born, a healthy, happy, (wing-less) little girl, Kiyoshi began realizing something he'd been ignoring was starting to nag more and more seemingly every day. Although he sincerely loved Akane, he was not very straight. He still kept it hidden, his feelings for Akane were sincere no matter what his sexuality was. After she returned to working, Kiyo was close to finishing a teaching degree. Unfortunately, as sometimes happens, they began to have their differences, and minor annoyances became pet peeves. Their break up was rather dramatic, and in the heat of the moment Kiyo confessed he was gay anyway. Although she didn't mind that particular fact, their constant arguments became a deal breaker.
Kiyoshi decided to return to Otherworld Academy, and from there he and Akane managed a more civil agreement of visiting rights and whatnot for Hane. Although they were no longer in love, the distance helped them at least repair their friendship. Hane visits him every summer (July-August-ish), and occasionally Kiyo will visit them for the holidays.
Originally nervous about letting him back in the school, the academy believes in second chances, and was pleasantly surprised to see how much Kiyoshi had matured while he was gone. With his parents just about to retire, Kiyoshi is taking over a few of their ESL classes, but he doesn't really want to teach any of the classes for the fairies.

| Kiyoko Hirada: now that he's grown up more, he appreciates and loves her. He's impressed with her patience for him as he was growing up. Hoshi Chen: they still have their moments where they don't get along at all, but they at least can admit they love each other now. Akane Fujimoto: they still get along, but besides talking about Hane, they don't have much in common anymore. Hane Chen: He adores her. She's the best accident that's ever happened to him.
