Deimos closed his eyes, focusing on breathing, nothing else. She moved again and his mouth turned to a straight line as he bit his lower lip. They were talking about serious things and this was not helping him focus - and wait, did she say she ran away? You ran away? He asked her. That was never disclosed to him. He could guess why, sort of, considering all that had happened to her before arriving at the school, so he wasn't surprised rather than in shock this was his first time hearing about it.
She has to know she's doing this... Deimos thought to himself as she got comfortable. She has to. He forced himself to focus again. If she wanted some place with sun and no cold, Greece really would be a good place to default to. But as supernaturals, he wasn't sure how either of them would fair the economic climate of his home country... Even her breathing seemed to be exemplified.
His mind wasn't focusing on where in the world they could go anymore, his geographical skills, which usually weren't this bad, were completely failing him. He couldn't think of a single tropical place besides Bali and... was Greece tropical? No.. no it wasn't. Maybe. No. It wasn't. He couldn't even remember what his own country was. Oh my god focus. He scolded himself, rolling his head back onto the pillow, shaking his head a bit before staring determinedly at the ceiling. I can live in the sun, I just don't like it, he finally spoke again, I'm not a vampire; I won't burn up or anything. It just bugs my eyes. We can go somewhere you can be happy, and I'll get a nice collection of sunglasses. He joked, hoping it sounded like a playful joke. He felt like he was suffering as he realized she probably didn't realize what she was doing; this was torture.

Rosalind froze, her hand stilling at his question. ...yes? I didn't tell you? Truthfully the only person who she remembered telling was the headmaster. She tried to think back to when her and Deimos had first met, and couldn't think of a time they'd actually had a conversation about how she'd come to the school. Right after the attack on me and my brother. I couldn't stay home because my father blamed me for the attack, and my parents would have ever believed me if I told them what really happened to me. Staying there without my brother, with my father verbally abusing me and my mom turning a blind eye to it all was too much. She tilted her head to look up at him. That's why I say you're the only family I have left...my brother is gone and I haven't talked to my parents since I got here.
She sighed, moving so that she was more on top of Deimos than she was on the bed, straddling him for just a few seconds as she rearranged herself to make herself more comfortable. The leg that had been between his legs moved to one side of him, and the other leg now rested where the first had been, pressing just a bit more firmly against him as she pressed close to him once more.
You're half vampire. Rosie mused at his words, tucking her face against his neck again so he could feel her mouth move as she spoke. Her hand moved to the hem of his shirt, playing with it as she said, Honestly anywhere with you is fine, as long as it isn't Bali or a winter wonderland. We can look at South America, there has to be a happy medium there, right?

Damn, so he'd been focusing on himself for four years? Deimos chewed his bottom lip, looking away, I'm... I see... He didn't know what to say for that. Sorry to hear that? Sorry your dad turned out to be a jerk? That's rough? His mind still wasn't focusing on anything outside of her sitting on him, her body touching his. He shifted, but it didn't help his... problem at all. He gritted his teeth as she went back to his neck, closing his eyes and trying to focus on the conversation at hand. We'll look into it later, I guess... He told her simply, deciding not to elaborate on why it'd have to be later.
He wanted to think he was doing good, she had been sexually assaulted (now more than) once, and he didn't want to scare her. He didn't want to be another guy on her list, he always let her make the first move in order to know it was what she wanted. But usually it wasn't this hard to quiet his hormones. He decided it must be near the full moon. That had to be it. He wasn't in any more pain than usual, but he was better at fighting through this usually. Trying to distract himself with another joke, he tilted his head just slightly to see her, still at his neck Are you sure you're not the half vampire?

Rosalind perked her head up a bit when Deimos failed to make a complete sentence, her brow drawn in a frown. What was wrong all of a sudden? He'd been talking before and now...? Rosie probed at him a bit and - oh! Her face turned red and she closed her eyes. Was he...? Why was he...? She glanced down at how she was laying, at her leg pressed against him, and her face reddened. Was she making him like this?
But he wasn't doing anything about it. He never did, something that bothered Rosie though she would never tell him that. It wasn't as if she didn't know why, he didn't want to scare her. He'd always left it up to her, since the first time they'd done anything and she freaked out out him. And while she definitely appreciated it, she didn't want him to be worried about upsetting her all the time, and she definitely didn't want to be the one who had to initiate it every time. She decided to see how far she could push him while pretending to remain completely clueless about how to he was reacting to her.
She slipped her hand under his shirt, running her fingers lightly against his stomach as she tilted her head a bit. I'm pretty sure both my parents are fairies. I mean, I think I'd know if I were half vampire. Besides, I love being in the sun. I don't have fangs, either. She emphasized that by pressing closer against him, making sure he knee rubbed him lightly as she grazed her teeth against his neck. Why?

Deimos was beginning to be convinced she knew what she was doing as she ran her hand under his shirt. She had to. No one could be that oblivious... could they? He took in a slow breath before letting it out in a breathy chuckle, his tongue running over his teeth and stopping at his fangs. I mean comparatively I don't have fangs either. He argued, and in a sense it was true, pure vampires had longer fangs than his. And you're one munching on my neck. He joked, using a finger to guide her head up so he could see her, giving her a kiss that quickly went from a simple kiss to one of obvious desire.

Rosalind shook her head, nipping at his neck. You have longer fangs than I do. I think I'd look good with fangs though. Maybe I should get some fake ones? She smiled against his lips when he finally kissed her, happily kissing him back. She was glad she'd read him correctly, though it still wasn't enough. He'd kissed her first plenty of times, she wanted to know how far he'd go. She began to move her knee so he'd know she was doing it on purpose, both of her hands going into his hair and silently willing him to do something more.
She ran her tongue against his mouth, humming lightly. It's because you taste good. She commented, pulling back to draw in a breath. She chewed on her bottom lip, frowning just a bit at him. She had a feeling he still wouldn't do anything unless she expressed that she wanted him to, though if this didn't tip him off she didn't know what would, outside of her just telling him to do it. So she opted to say, You're not gonna scare me, Demi.

Deimos chuckled at her comment, I can't imagine you with fangs. Besides, the only fake ones I know of are those cheap plastic ones that make everyone drool. Not sexy. He teased. His joking seemed to get caught in his throat though at her next words. So she did know what she was doing. That was kind of relief, she wasn't torturing him without knowing it at least. Still, it was cruel to make him wait this long, wait so long to confirm she knew. With that confirmation, he decided to go for it, give it another chance, and he rolled her over so he was above her now.
~~
Deimos hadn't fallen asleep afterwords for once, instead humoring his mind (now that he could concentrate) and seeing what countries were tropical and also majority English speaking. There wasn't much, outside of Hawaii, which was still in America and therefore still withing reach of the country's President. Canada had cold winters, but maybe there'd be enough sun for Rosie to agree.

Rosalind hadn't even bothered attempting to sleep, though she was pleasantly worn out now. She laid next to Deimos, eyes closed and trying to relax, though now her back was bothering her a bit more than usual, and shifting only caused more pain. She hoped that he wouldn't wait for her to start things as much anymore, though teasing him like that, once she'd actually realized what she'd been doing to him, was amusing. Maybe she could do that more often.
So about those fake fangs. She mused once she brought her mind back from what had just transpired. She managed to turn (very slowly and with very deep breaths) so she could cuddle against Deimos once more, this time keeping her hands and legs to herself though she wouldn't mind another round too much. She stretched a bit to kiss his cheek. What are you thinking about?

Deimos noticed her rigidness, casually moving his hand around her and massaging her back. He recognized someone in pain, he could figure what was bothering her. He raised an eyebrow, looking down to her, What about them? He asked her, amused.
He showed her his phone, currently opened to an information chart on Belize weather. I'm looking at a list of English-speaking countries. He told her simply. And then their weather patterns. He frowned, Belize gets too many hurricanes. It sounds like everyone hurricane they've gotten has leveled cities... Can you think of any places? The more he had to search, the more he had a feeling he'd cave and have them go to Greece. The weather was perfect for her and it was a place he was used to, he wouldn't have to learn anything. Bad economy or not, it was sounding better with every failed search.

Rosalind sighed as Deimos rubbed her back, closing her eyes again. It helped soothe the pain a bit, and she murmured a "thank you" against his side. She smiled a bit, peeking up at him. You don't think I'd look good with them? Drool and all?
When he showed her his phone phone sat up some, frowning. I don't know very many places. Honestly my parents didn't, we lived off things we grew and made ourselves so I'm not sure how that stuff actually works. Do we really need a lot to be happy? she looked at him, tilting her head some. Can't the headmaster recommend you a job or something? Maybe you should ask him.

Deimos laughed at her comment, I'd have to see. You'd probably look ridiculous, but I bet it'd be cute. He told her, bumping his forehead against hers for a moment. He thought a moment over her words. Of course, that'd make sense. A family of supernaturals would stay out of the human eye. He grew up with human parents, but outside of getting him to go to a regular school, he was kept pretty secluded, though that had been for his personality, not because he was a hybrid (even if it could be argued his personality was because he was a hybrid). He'd heard of other students that had no clue how humans lived. Some even had wild, bizarre stories.
There is one positive to you not having wings... We can live literally anywhere. No one has to know we're supernaturals. That keeps us from being too limited in our choice of places to go, if we can keep your abilities under wraps no one would think twice looking at us. He chuckled, Except maybe how strange it is that a vegetarian and carnivore fell in love. He joked. He paused and thought a moment, he'd have to use the headmaster as a reference if he wanted work anyway, but he doubted the man had the ability to sway outside companies to hire someone. I'm not sure... But I want to talk with the headmaster anyway, and I'll bring it up. He told her.

Rosalind smiled up at him, kissing him lightly when he bumped her forehead with his. I'm sure there are better quality ones out there that won't make me a drooly mess. At his statement she nodded, reaching a hand back to where he wings used to be. She'd be lying if she said she didn't miss them. Miss being able to fly whenever she wanted. It'd taken her a while after they got cut off to get used to having to walk everywhere.
Hmm, we could always go to Sri Lanka, or Brazil, or Mexico. Rosie didn't know much of anything about those places, just naming off countries that were not in Greece or Bali that seemed like they might be warm, and hopefully spoke English. She smiled at him, laughing softly. That is a bit strange, isn't it? I don't think people will be looking too closely at our eating habits though. Rosalind rolled, carefully, so that she was laying on top of him, kissing him once before resting her head on his chest. I'm sure he can find something for you to do. Not necessarily give you the job but push you in the right direction, ya know? He seems to know you pretty well. I could probably get a job as like, a botanist or something. There isn't much I'm good at though.

Deimos smiled warmly, closing his eyes. He could easily imagine them somewhere, his mind formulating an image of a European-esque village, the sun shining bright, with Rosie running a flower shop, a cute dress and sunhat on, and him very far away because every plant he touched seemed to die. It was a curse, honestly. He let out a slight, humored breath as he recalled being a kid and how his mom used to chase him out of the garden whenever he decided to try to help. I could easily picture you running a flower shop. He told her, the smile still on his face.
His smile didn't fade much, but he scrunched up his nose as her suggestions, None of those places speak English as a first language... But I'll look into them and get back to you. He promised her. He nudged her head with two fingers, pushing it to the side, Ey, there's plenty you're good at. He chuckled a bit, I bet you'd make a great counselor. He said, only half-joking. Her empathy would probably be too overpowering for her to actually join a career like counseling, but it was a thought.

I would love to have my own flower shop. Then I could be surrounded by plants and colors and green every day. Plus I could grow my own food so all you'd have to worry about it finding meat for yourself. The one good thing about her being a vegetarian was that she could grow her own food, and drastically cut down on their food bill, especially since the only thing they'd have to worry about buying would be meat for Deimos.
Honestly I don't think it'd be that hard for me to pick up on a new language, since I can read minds and such. I could probably figure out what things are pretty quickly. She'd never really tried to learn a different language, though she knew how to speak Indonesian because that's where she'd been born, and English because her father was from America. But that was when she'd been young and it was easier for her to learn languages. Though she had been entertaining the thought of learning sign language for Deimos. Not that she'd tell him that.
She looked at him a bit skeptically, shaking her head at his suggestion. Being a councilor would literally kill me. I couldn't handle all of that. She said, not commenting on him saying there were things she was good at. He was only obligated to say that because they were together, but she didn't want to start another argument so she bit her tongue.

Deimos nodded, It sounds like you know your dream job - and hey, you don't need a college degree for that. He told her.
His smile finally faded at her next comment, thinking back to being twelve years old, suddenly thrust into a school where he didn't understand the language of instruction, and had no one to help him. He had to learn English through reading, speech therapy, and pure luck. Of course, having Rosalind also learning the language would be helpful. With the psychic link he'd probably have a much easier time learning another language, but the thought of having to learn a new language, and potentially another alphabet already made him frustrated. Lucky you. He commented, not meaning to make it sound quite as bitter as it had come out. He was also at a disadvantage in sign language. Some of the signs in Greek SL were the same as ASL, but they were few and far between and he was lucky when he understood an entire sentence in ASL. Learning new Sign Language also didn't seem fun, and that was assuming there was even an official sign language where they were going.
He nudged her again, I was kidding. Geez. He said, giving her a smile, though it seemed a bit more forced and only half of his lips went up into a smile.
