Deimos readjusted the papers before getting ready to go into the teachers room. He had finally been given a more non-menial task, and he was coming to return it the respective teacher, but when he got to the door, he noticed it was mostly closed, which was unusual. He peek through the crack to see what was going on. He saw the headmaster, and two people he could only see the backs of.
I would be happy to provide you a break from the human world. Of course old students are always welcome, especially ones from my year. The headmaster had said to them. The woman nodded, probably saying something because the headmaster reacted to something.
Would you like to teach general classes, or ones in your language focus? This time the man said something, and even though Deimos had a better view of him, he still wasn't at the right angle to read his lips. The headmaster nodded, rubbing his chin, Are you sure? We've actually got a few new kids from Hong Kong that would welcome familiarity.
Deimos was a bit surprised, new teachers usually never came in the middle of semesters, though the academy was never one to turn down any supernatural looking for reprieve. And he had noticed a small group of scared new kids that, according to other students, only spoke Chinese to each other. He just knew reading their lips was impossible. Maybe they came with the kids, or something.
He looked up again in time to see the headmaster seem to remember something, I should warn you, though. Both of your sons are here.
Deimos didn't get why they'd need to be warned of that, it seemed like something they should've known. The woman's hand went to her face, and he had a feeling she gasped. The man also seemed to pale, and he didn't have to see his lips fully to know he said, "Both?!"
The headmaster nodded. "Both." The two soon-to-be teachers seemed agitated about that fact.
Jeez, what their kid do? He thought, raising an eyebrow. He decided the two people mulling over the fact that both of their kids were at the academy was the time to make his entrance.
The headmaster was the first to look at him, and had a rather curious smile on his face. "Ah, Deimos, can I help you?"
He held up the papers. "Just returning these for Prof- Rita." He would never get used to calling the teachers by their first names. He'd have to be away from the school a lot longer than he was to be able to do that.
"Good, good, I'm glad you were able to help her." The headmaster said.
Deimos turned slowly, looking at the headmaster curiously. Sure, the guy was eccentric most of the time, but he was acting strange. Very strange. He put the papers on the desk, and when he looked up to head out the door, the other two people were staring at him. He froze. They looked very familiar. Too familiar. They looked like him and Felix. His eyes went to the headmaster, and the two people in front of him also turned to look at him.
"As I said, both." He said simply. "Sir, I don't think I follow..." Deimos said, the confusion very apparent on his face.
The woman whipped around to look at him again, seeming surprised. The man slowly turned his head to face Deimos. The woman walked up to him, and he backed away from her with a snarl.
She gasped, noticing his fangs. "You really are..." She paused a moment, seeming to be in shock. "You're really still alive."
Deimos twitched, his face turning cold, "What the hell does that mean?" He snarled.
The man stepped closer, but didn't get as close as the woman. "She means you were supposed to not make it after we dropped you off at the orphanage."
Deimos furrowed his eyebrows. From the second he saw their faces he kind of knew, there was no way he and Felix could look so much like them without it being that, but he hadn't wanted to believe his parents intentionally left him. That they didn't have a choice, or were on the run. Something. Anything but they didn't want him. He shook his head, bunching his fists as he glared at the Headmaster, "Is this some kind of cruel joke?" He asked, and the hurt was more apparent in his voice than he had wanted it to be.
The headmaster sighed, but didn't say anything, or if he did, Deimos didn't notice. His fists clenched until he drew blood, and he shut his eyes tight. If he could see them, if he could just wake up, this nightmare could be over.
Yeah, nightmare. That's all this was. A new, unfamiliar nightmare. When he opened his eyes, he'd be in his bed, probably have a bit of actual injury to his hands, but it'd be nothing. He'd wake up and things would be in place again. He'd wake up and his brother would still be German, he'd still be Greek, they'd have separate sets of parents, things would be the weird setup it was but at least it made sense.
Leaving a one day old on the steps of an orphanage did not make sense. Hoping he'd die before he showed any signs did not make sense. The confirmation that two people loved each other but made a mistake by breeding did not make sense. He opened his eyes, they were still there. His hands were bleeding, he wasn't in his bed. He felt like everything he knew was collapsing. Felix had said they were probably dead, though the boy also admitted he didn't actually know. But Felix spent longer with them. What made them decide to give up their second child two years later, rather than after a day or week or not at all? If they weren't dead, what excuse did they have for giving up Felix? His hurt turned to anger pretty quickly, and he glared at the two people in front of him, his parents. The word brought a taste that seemed like poison just thinking it. "How dare you." He began, his voice low and shaky.
"Deimos..." The headmaster warned, but knew it was pointless, Deimos was probably blind to anything besides the two in front of him.
"How dare you have the nerve. How dare you abandon me, abandon Felix, and then think you can waltz into this school like it's any other day." His parents stepped back, and the man - his dad - seemed to be preparing for defensive maneuvers. Probably a good idea. "How dare you even have another child if you didn't want any. How could you do that?!" His voice was rising. The woman was about to speak, but he silenced her harshly. "I don't want excuses. I want to know what made you think you had the right to bring a hybrid - two hybrids - into this world and then just abandoned them in the human world!" He was probably yelling now, but he'd stopped trying to control his voice, he wasn't sure. "Why did you think what you did was okay?!" He yelled, knew he was yelling now. "Why would you even let yourselves fall in love?! Why would you let a child come to term?! You could've avoided having a child if you wanted!"
"We were hoping you'd be still born." His father answered honestly.
"Oh dear." The headmaster said simply, scooting his chair to a corner. This wasn't his battle, and he was smarter than to try to stop Deimos after that comment.
Deimos' vision went red. He growled low, going to attack the man that was supposedly his father, but the older man was stronger, faster, purer. He caught Deimos' arm and then twisted it back, holding both of his arms. "Let me go!" Deimos snarled, struggling to get away. As his mother tried to come close, he kicked at her, though didn't connect any of the kicks.
As the man began speaking to Deimos, the headmaster raised a hand to get the man's attention. "He needs to see your lips. He's deaf." He piped up simply, going back to minding his own business.
"You're deaf?" His mother asked him. She had strange look of sympathy and relief on her face.
"What it matter to you?" Deimos snarled. "You knew the consequences of having a child, that's why you abandoned us, isn't it?!" He yelled. "Let me go." He said again, this time quieter, lower, more threatening.
"Not until we know you won't kill us." His mother said.
Deimos laughed, "We'll be here quite a while then."
The headmaster was trying to think of how he could get everyone out the situation without anyone losing their life, as though he understood Deimos' anger, he also knew the boy didn't need another death on his hands. There was only so many times he could let Deimos get away with it before everyone in the school would probably argue it was best to quarantine him, or something. His eyes fell on some rope, and he stood up, bringing the rope over to Deimos and his father. He waited until he got Deimos' attention, which only happened when he started tying the boy's hands. "It's for your own good." The headmaster promised, making sure the ropes were tight enough he couldn't escape, but loose enough it wouldn't hurt him. He'd probably rub his skin raw anyway, but the headmaster hoped it was the thought that counted. He took Deimos by the shoulder, leading him to a chair. "Calm down and breathe." He ordered him simply.
Deimos hadn't stopped snarling at his parents since he could make eye contact with both of them again. The more he tried to calm himself though, the angrier he got. "You only care about yourselves, don't you? You chucked the consequences of your actions aside and continued on with your life. You turned your back on your own children!" Things were starting to get fuzzy, he'd only ever experienced this once before. But this time, it was a slower build up. He was aware of it instead of it coming on suddenly. He'd black out soon, essentially, or whatever it was that happened during his psychotic breaks. He brought his legs up onto the chair, curling into himself as he fought to get out of the rope. Maybe this was still just a really, really bad nightmare.

This wasn't fair. None of this was fair. Sure she was still only a student, and Deimos was technically staff here, but Rosalind was eighteen and the school shouldn't have any right to keep the two of them apart! At least that's what the fairy told herself, her face buried in her pillow, dried tears on her cheeks. She'd been in this position for the better part of two days, the pain of not being able to see Deimos and anger at the school faculty for enforcing this causing her to slip into a depression, and making it that much harder to come out.
Yes, we know you are eighteen Rosalind, but think of how it would make the school look. This establishment has been around for hundreds of years, we have a reputation to uphold. One of the teachers had tried to explain, only to be interrupted by a, "to hell with the establishment and to hell with your reputation! This is stupid and you know it!" by Deimos.
I'm sorry Mr Beck that you feel that way, but we cannot condone this relationship, not while Miss Bonner is a student here. We must insist that you terminate your relationship immediately, lest there be consequences.
Rosalind had to literally drag Deimos away before he did something he'd regret later, and that had been the last time she'd seen him. That was almost two weeks ago now. Going from seeing him almost every day to maybe passing by him hurt. And it wasn't as if Rosie had agreed to what the faculty decided (obviously) by dragging Deimos away, but he needed this job, and she didn't want him to screw it up by taking his anger out on them (even if they most definitely deserved it).
She sighed, shifting onto her side. She missed him.
Rosie had closed her eyes, willing sleep to come so she wouldn't have to dwell on the unfairness of the entire situation when she was hit with an overwhelming feeling of anger and hurt. She shot into a seated position, gasping and clutching at her chest. What the hell? She looked around the room, a feeling of panic climbing up her throat, making her want to scream. It was empty, there was no-one around who could have been projecting these feelings on her.
But they were so intense, and felt so...so familiar. "Deimos?" She breathed out, the hand not on her chest gripping the cover as the feelings only got stronger. It was him, it had to be!
She jumped out of bed, nearly falling over as the projected feelings seemed to be weighing her down. She pulled on an oversized shirt (one she'd stolen from Deimos at one point and still smelled like him) and a pair of leggings. After pulling on some flats she left the room, letting his feelings guide her. The closer she got, the stronger and more intense the feelings got.
Rosie was surprised to see she was led to the teachers, but the feeling was suffocating. But still she pressed on, going to the door. It was cracked, and she could see two people standing and the headmaster. And there he was. "Deimos!" She gasped, going into the room and rushing over to him. Tears immediately sprang to her eyes and she struggled to breathe, the anger and pain he was projecting hitting her full force. She'd never felt anything this strong and took a shaky step breath, looking up at the headmaster. "What are you doing to him?"
She dropped to her knees in front of him, her hands going to his face, pulling his forehead to her. Deimos, it's me. It's okay, calm down. It was probably a bad idea trying this, considering the first time she'd done it to him hadn't ended well and it wasn't nearly this strong. But still, she closed her eyes, starting to siphon just a bit of the anger and pain into herself. She couldn't take much, because he was already projecting so strongly, but she tried to take just enough to calm him down.

Deimos was still trying to convince himself this was just a really bad nightmare, that he'd wake up and could go to tell Felix about the weird dream he had. How he dreamed about their parents - maybe. Since he didn't actually know what they looked like, after all. His hands hurt from him digging his fingernails into them, and his wrists felt like they were burning. He was trying to keep from teetering off the edge, having another memory lapse, waking up with blood on his hands. If this was a dream, it was definitely one he'd never forget.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his face, and he opened his eyes to a familiar face. God, he had missed her. It felt like a thousand thoughts came to his mind at once, not able to decide what to tell her. When he felt the anger subsiding, he quickly pulled away. Don't. He told her. His eyes seemed glued to the floor, but finally he looked up at her, bumping their foreheads again now that he stopped her from taking all this on her own. He felt he was going to explode with how much he was feeling right now, he didn't need to destroy her. I missed you. He told her before pushing her to the side of the chair with his leg.
His eyes returned to the ones that claimed to be his biological parents. The hatred he had for them was clear on his face.
They were looking at Rosalind, clearly confused. "Who are you?" The woman asked.
"She's my girlfriend." Deimos growled, still fidgeting with the ties.
"You mean some one actually loves someone like you?"
Deimos screamed, it coming out almost like a growl, kicking to try and escape the chair, pulling at the rope.
"Now, now William, I really thought you two were better than that. That stings." The headmaster said, still in his corner, seeming to have no intentions to stop Deimos if he escaped.
Deimos was seeing red again, so if William answered, he didn't see it. He breathed heavily, curling up on the chair again, giving his wrists a break. They were stinging, and felt wet, but he couldn't tell if that was new or just from his hands. "Why would you even bother?" He began softly, before shooting his parents a deadly glare, "If you looked down on hybrids so much, if you didn't want to create any, why did you have children?!" He wanted things to start making sense. Or to wake up. One or the other, but he needed it to happen post haste. His glare turned to the headmaster. "And you," he snarled, "You knew who they were, and still let them come? What kind of sick joke is this?!"
"Ah, now, Deimos, you know we allow any and all supernaturals here. Anyone that comes here will be given a place. I was going to find a way to tell you, but you... well, you were already here." The headmaster explained.
The answer seemed to satiate Deimos, and his glare returned to his parents for a moment before looking to the ground. "Why not just do an abortion? Why didn't one of you get sterilized, or something." His anger was turning to pain again, and he bit his lip, shutting his eyes tight, willing himself not to cry, before looking back up at them, "Why wait to see if I was going to be stillborn?!"
"Well you weren't very active in the-"
"Don't fucking answer like that!" Deimos screamed over his mother. "That's not an excuse!"

Rosalind flinched when Deimos' voice suddenly filtered through his mind, and he when he pulled away she couldn't help the frown. Why didn't he want her to help him? She didn't want him to suffer through this alone. Tears filled her eyes again, not only because of the pain he'd been projecting but the pain and anger that was clear on his face. She hated seeing him like this.
I missed you too. So much. She responded before she was moved away. She backed away from him, feeling the anger and pain intensify even more, her heart breaking that he wouldn't let her help. Her attention moved to the couple standing in the room when the woman began questioning who she was.
Her understanding of why Deimos' was so angry quickly becoming clear during the exchange, and she felt her own anger spark at how they spoke to him. His own parents hoped he would die before ever being born? Why even have him if they didn't want him, if they knew the consequences? She'd never known more selfish people.
Even though she was no longer siphoning the pain from him, she could still feel it thickly, and her hand once again moved to her chest, clutching it as she felt her heart breaking even more for him. Deimos, she started, talking to him telepathically since she was behind him and he couldn't see her mouth. Please let me help you. She knew if she tried to siphon from him by touching him he would only push her away again trying to protect her.
She'd never tried projecting her own feelings onto him before, and while she was mostly consumed by hurt and anger, she wondered if she could push past that. Rosalind stood, going behind his chair and wrapping her arms around him from behind, her face tucked into the crook of his neck. Relax. She said in a soothing voice, trying to project a calm feeling onto him. Please calm down. I'm here. I love you, it's okay. They can't hurt you if you don't let them. Just calm down.
She looked at his parents, still projected the calm feeling onto him but her face portraying something else entirely. "How dare you?" She started, almost too quietly for them to hear. The anger on her face seemed out of place for anyone who knew Rosalind, and even the Headmaster was shocked at the malice he heard dripping from her words. "How dare you say something like that to him? Don't you think he's suffered enough just by being born? Having no-one around to love him, to show him that he didn't have to be another hybrid statistic? He's gone through so much because you selfish sorry excuses for parents didn't want him. Just because you couldn't find it in yourselves to love the very person you forced into this world doesn't mean nobody does! You don't have the right to say something like that to him."

Deimos' anger was still there, but calm was coming to him. He had no idea if it was because she was hugging him or because she was doing something empathically, He let his head fall onto the back of the chair, ending up right by Rosalind's shoulder. He closed his eyes, trying to take a moment to process everything that had happened in the last... how long had it even been? It felt like it had been hours since he had first stepped into this room, but it had to have been only minutes, maybe thirty minutes at most. He was tired, tired of fighting, tired of feeling so many things against the two people in front of him. He finally decided to try the deep breaths the headmaster had suggested when he was first placed in the chair, finding it easier now that Rosie was projecting calmness to him - she was definitely doing that, she had to be.
"With him we were scared, okay?!" The woman finally said. "Up until then, hybrids were... dangerous. Monsters!"
"I'm still right here, Dei." The headmaster quipped.
"Again, no offense to you, Harry." Dei said. "You're a wonderful person."
"Nope, none taken. I love hearing my kind being stereotyped." The headmaster muttered under his breath, a smile plastered on his face as he gave her a nod.
"And we were constantly having to move, country to country, so as not to get caught. We weren't only scared of him, we were scared for him." Dei stressed.

Rosalind didn't realize she'd stopped projecting calmness onto Deimos, her grip on him tightening almost painfully. Their words had only served to anger her more, and she took forced herself to relax her hold, finding that calm once again. It only just registered what Headmaster Blakwell had said, and she looked back at him in shock. He was a hybrid too? She'd had no idea.
"So your solution was to get pregnant and then hope he died?" Her voice was once again at it's normal volume, the anger still there. She was fighting to keep it from her voice, though it was a struggle. "If you were so scared of having a hybrid baby you shouldn't have had one. There are so many options to prevent pregnancies, we live in the 21st century for crying out loud. If you knew enough to be afraid for him, you should have done everything in your power to not bring someone like him into the world." Her grip had once again tightened.
It wasn't to say Rosie wasn't glad Deimos had been born. She couldn't imagine a life without him, if she were honest. But to say that they wanted him dead because they were afraid? "And then on top of that you had not one, but two children? Did you also pray that Felix was a stillborn? When he wasn't, did you abandon him like you did Deimos? Leave them alone to grow up wondering what was wrong with them? Why they're parents didn't love them enough to try?"
She took a shuddery breath, letting it out slowly. She'd begun shaking with trying to hold the anger in and project calm at the same time. "It's no wonder some hybrids turn out the way they did. Anybody would have issues to have so selfish assholes for parents. Maybe it's best Deimos didn't have you in his life. He and Felix are two of the best people I know, and while I hate you with every fiber of my being for what you did to him, he wouldn't be here if you two weren't so self-absorbed pieces of shit."

Deimos jumped at the sudden surge of anger that was presented. It wasn't his, not anymore, he was too tired for that. He blinked wearily, looking at Rosie for a moment before looking to his parents. "Can I just.. go?" He asked, his voice as tired as he felt. "They didn't want to waste anytime getting rid of me, I don't want to waste anymore time with them." He said simply.
Dei and William seemed to have been made speechless by the girl's words, Deimos' words not even seeming to phase them. "By the time we had Felix, we were ready and wanted a child. But where we were at the time, it was practically a witch hunt, trying to find the hybrid child. We wanted him safe. We went a few towns over, and dropped him off at an orphanage and left. We didn't want anyone to know his heritage." Dei explained.
Deimos snorted a laugh, his lips curling up into a crooked smile, "You were ready and wanted a child. That's cute," he said, "You were ready to bring a child into the world, to ignore the one you abandoned?" He accused. "Did you think bringing another hybrid into the world would fix anything? Well guess what, you're lucky! Felix is perfectly 'normal.' Don't you want him back now? Huh?" His malicious grin turned in a snarl, "take him while you still abandon your 'broken' child again?"

Rosalind looked back at the Headmaster, the frown still on her face though not directed at him. "Can I untie him now? He won't do anything while I'm here." She murmured softly.
Blakwell gestured with his hand, nodding once. "Actually, Miss Bonner, I would like to talk to you about that. Not that, but at a later time."
Rosie had moved to stand in front of Deimos and had grabbed his hands but faltered at the Headmaster's words. She knew manipulation was forbidden at the school, and she'd more or less used it right in front of the Headmaster. Granted it was so Deimos wouldn't kill the people behind her, but she knew rules were rules, and she'd essentially broken one. She gave him a hesitant nod, going back to undoing the ropes around Deimos' wrists and keeping his hands in hers, not wanting to break the calm she was giving him.
"Deimos," Blakwell now said, walking so Deimos could see him talk. "I was going to ask someone else to do this, but I feel as if this is better suited for you. We have a child we believe would benefit well from being here at the school. And I would like for you to join a few of our other scouters in fetching him. It would give you some much needed reprieve from the school and...certain individuals." He'd glanced towards Deimos' parents but returned his focus to Deimos. "Scouting missions usually take at minimum two weeks to complete, though sometimes more."
Rosie felt her heart sink at those words. Her first day seeing Deimos' in two weeks and Blakwell wanted to send him away again, this time for longer? She knew it was for Deimos' good, the Headmaster rarely did things that weren't in the best interest of the individuals under him, but still. She didn't want to be away from him anymore. It felt like they were deliberately keeping the two apart.
Blakwell looked at Dei and William again. "Would you mind coming back at a later time, and we can discuss the terms of your employment then? I would like to speak to these two alone, please."

William and Dei didn't seem to waste any time leaving once given permission, and the last thing Deimos saw was William arguing they shouldn't have said all that in front of the headmaster, but then they were gone and Deimos couldn't read their lips anymore.
Deimos was relieved when the rope was released, seeing his did in fact rub his wrists raw enough to bleed, but not as badly as he thought. The blood he had felt earlier must have been from his hands, though it had all stopped bleeding by now. He brought his hands down to his lap, casually cleaning blood out of his fingernails as the headmaster talked. His eyebrows furrowed, "You want... me to do a scouting mission?" Aside from teachers, scouts got paid the most in the school. He never thought he'd be considered for a scouting position. His eyes drifted to Rosalind, and his excitement waned. "Sir,"
The headmaster held up a hand. "I will allow your relationship. If-" He waved his hand to keep Deimos' attention as the boy got excited all over again. "-If, you two are not too public about it. We do, actually, have a reputation to uphold."
Deimos gave him a salute, before wincing at moving his hands so suddenly.
"Get yourself cleaned up, and come to my office for more details." The headmaster told him, leaving them be for a bit.
Did you hear that? Our relationship!! He said to Rosalind, enveloping her in a hug, careful to keep his hands away from her clothes.

"Rosalind." The Headmaster said, garnering the girl's attention. "I understand why you did it, and I thank you for quelling a situation that could have very quickly gotten out of hand, but manipulation is still very much forbidden at the school. Do not let me see you doing it again." Rosalind had been afraid of being punished, but the smile he gave her told her that it wouldn't be happening, at least not today. She nodded to him, offering him a timid smile in return.
She let out a squeak when she was suddenly hugged. Of course she was happy and even excited that they were allowed to be together again, but it was being overshadowed by the fact that Deimos' was going to be leaving. She wrapped her arms around him, pressing her face into his chest.
I missed you. She'd said it before, but he'd been too absorbed in his anger and hurt to really register her words. She tilted her head up a bit, smiling up at him, even though her smile didn't quite reach her eyes. Are you excited to be a scout? It's a good opportunity. They make more money than regular staff do, right? Plus you'll be able to see the sunshine again. It almost seemed as if Rosie were trying to keep herself happy for him with the words, though it didn't seem to be doing his job. Sure she was happy but damn it she just wanted to able to spend time again. I wonder when you leave...

Deimos pulled out of the hug, letting himself somewhat fall onto the chair from over the arm rest, landing softly onto the chair, pulling her with him. He rested his head on the other arm rest, closing his eyes. He felt as if he wasted so much energy earlier. Maybe he'd actually get a good night's rest. Yeah, they do. I'm happy... But I'll miss you so much more not being able to at least look at you everyday. He told her honestly. It sounds like they're still preparing everything, so it would probably be a week or two before we leave? A hand went to his head, but he caught a glance at his hand and figured he shouldn't run it through his hair. He let his arm rest by his head above him, letting out a sigh. He could use a drink, or ten, to even hope to forget what just happened. Forget everything they actually said to his face.
And here he had been insulted by what his adopted parents told him. Maybe he should give them a call, or visit them while he was out, depending on where they were.
He raised his other arm above his head as well, stretching and yawning as he did so. I hate the sun. He finally said bluntly. It doesn't bother me vampire-wise, I just hate it. It's bright.

Rosalind was glad he felt the same way, snuggling close to him when she was pulled onto him. Yeah...I'm happy for you but I'll miss you a bunch too. She admitted, closing her eyes. I miss the sun. If the first time she'd siphoned his pain was draining, this was one hundred times that. Rosie felt like if she tried to move she'd collapse, the adrenaline wearing off and leaving her empty.
She wanted nothing more than to sleep now, but they were still in the teachers lounge and she didn't think sleeping in here on top of Deimos was the greatest idea. Demi? I'm tired...can we go back to your room? She didn't really think about the implications of what she'd asked him, too drained to bother being embarrassed about how it sounded.

Deimos raised an eyebrow, but didn't respond, gently pushing her off so he could get up, then pulling her onto his back. Yeah, let's go. He said, trudging off towards his room. He was tired, sure, but he could only imagine she was ten times more tired than he was, since she not only used one that usually drained her, but also one she'd never done before.
Once he got to his room, he plopped her onto his bed before finally going to clean off his hands. Once he was done, he wrapped his hands and wrists in gauze and tape. He got close to Rosalind. Hey, I'm gonna go talk with the headmaster. You can rest here, okay? I'll be back soon. He didn't wait for her to respond, giving her a kiss on the forehead and leaving the room.
He knocked on the door once he got to the headmaster's office, though it was open. "Sir...?" He asked.
The headmaster turned in his chair, "Ah! Deimos, about time."
Deimos gave him a face before going in to sit down. "Why do you want me to scout? Why so suddenly after approving mine and Rosie's relationship?" He asked, but stopped as the headmaster held up a hand.
"Deimos, they've found a werewolf-vampire hybrid, and according to our sources, he's a rather troubled kid. I think he would benefit from having one of his own kind on the team that picks him up. You don't have to agree, and you can stay here and spend as much time with Ms. Bonner as you'd like, but I really hope you would consider going." He noticed Deimos seemed conflicted on deciding, and he added in, "Think of how you might have felt having a hybrid on the team that brought you here. Someone to tell you everything will be okay. That you weren't alone in this world."
Deimos knew he would've liked that very much. As it was, when he first started at the academy, there was only one other werevamp hybrid, not including another in permanent quarantine, that was in the school with him. He would give anything to stay and spend as much as time as possible with Rosie, but he also knew if the kid was as the headmaster was saying, then the team would need help. Finally, he spoke, slowly, as if still debating, "Yeah... I'll accept the offer." He said, his eyes just as slowly returning their gaze to the headmaster.
The headmaster smiled, "Excellent. You'll be leaving in a week, the team members that need to worry about supplies are already assigned, and there will be an apartment for you guys once you get there."
"Ah, that reminds me... Where is... 'there?'" Deimos asked.
"That's another reason I thought you'd be rather useful... He's in Greece."
Deimos blinked at him, trying to process all of this. There was another werevamp hybrid. There was another "troubled" werevamp hybrid. In Greece. And the kid was supposedly alone in some sense if he 'could use someone like him.'
Was he going back in time? He tried to remember the team of scouts that brought him back to the academy. He didn't remember anyone that looked like current him. Which was a shame, cause he'd figure out how to do it again to protect Rosie from those humans.
"Yeah, okay." He replied simply, motioning to get up. "Anything else?"
"Just make sure you're ready by 8am on Wednesday, alright?" He paused, but when Deimos made to leave he reached out a hand. He waited for the boy to turn back and look at him, "And Deimos, no alcohol while doing this."
Deimos fell back in the chair pouting. "You've got to be fucking kidding me."
The headmaster gave him a serious, stern look. "I need all the scouts completely aware," He was speaking as if explaining to a toddler, and though the tone of his voice was lost on Deimos, the way the headmaster was speaking, slowly, making sure Deimos got every word, he still got the mixed demeaning-yet-parental intentions across. "And I know you have a problem. I know you know you have a problem. I haven't said anything because you haven't caused any harm to anyone... except yourself." He sighed, rubbing his chin for a moment before looking back to the younger man. "I can't have you messing this up with your addiction, understand."
Deimos wiggled in protest, a pout on his face as he scrunched up his nose, looking away from the headmaster, arms crossed tightly across his chest. "Yeah, fine, whatever."
The headmaster motioned he could leave, and Deimos went back to his room. He went directly to where he kept his alcohol, just pulling out a bottle of wine and sliding down the wall, resting his arms on his knees, and taking a sip.
He looked towards Rosalind, "So I'm going back home for a bit, I guess." He told her, not even sure if she was awake. He looked at the bottle in his hands, this wouldn't be enough to drown out today, it seemed like he didn't have enough alcohol in his room to forget today. It wouldn't be enough to make up for the fact that he'd potentially have to be sober 24/7 for over two weeks. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a sigh.

Rosalind closed her eyes, resting her head on Deimos' shoulder as he made his way to his room. She briefly wondered if this counted as being public, but she was sure a staff member carrying a student wasn't that out of the ordinary, and it wasn't as if he were carrying her in an inappropriate way.
She was nearly asleep already by the time they made it to his room and made a noise when he dropped her onto the bed. This is way more comfier than the one in my room. Can I just move in here? She thought sleepily, a pout on her face. She blinked her eyes open at his words, smiling just a bit when he kissed her and watching as he left the room.
Rosie sank further into the pillows, closing her eyes again. She was asleep within seconds, the exhaustion too much for her to try and stay awake while waiting for him to come back.
Unfortunately her exhaustion and the onslaught of emotions she'd been through today triggered yet another nightmare. She'd gone a couple weeks without one, but for the few minutes she was asleep, her mind replayed the attack on her and her brother in vivid detail. She could feel the panic as if she were really there, running as fast as she could away from the teenagers. The pain from tripping and landing badly on her knee. She watched her brother stop and turn back to her, and the teenagers jumping him.
The screams from getting his wings cut off loud and so realistic. And then they turned on her. And the panic bubbled up all over again. She opened her mouth to let out a scream and--
Rosie awoke with a gasp, not realizing where she was at first, only this time is was due to Deimos' voice and not the end of the dream waking her up. She stumbled out of the bed, knocking into the nightstand and causing an empty bottle to crash onto the floor. She stumbled, her legs giving out and causing her to collapse on top of the glass, a yelp escaping her as she felt several shards lodge into the back of her leg and the palm of her hand.
It was then that she remembered where she was, and the sleep cleared from her eyes. She turned a wide-eyed look toward Deimos', the words he said registering in her mind. "When?" She finally asked, wincing as she tried to stand and the pain from the shards finally hitting her.

Deimos sighed, setting the bottle down beside him and moving to try to warn her about the glass, but he was too late. he let out a sigh, getting up fully and going over to her. He picked her in a princess carry, depositing her on the cabinet in his bathroom. "Can't take you anywhere." He muttered under his breath, collecting a few necessary items. A week, Wednesday. He told her, now too busy picking shards of glass out of her leg with tweezers. Once he thought he got all the shards out, he used his phone's light to check for any other he may have been missing. Seeing nothing, he rubbed an alcohol pad over it before sticking gauze on it and wrapping tape over it. He stood up again, giving her a look before starting on her hand. You're free to stay in my room while I'm gone, if you want. He offered. A part of him wanted to offer for her to stay before he left, too, but the connotations seemed too... too what? He couldn't even think of his excuse, but he still didn't say it.
